Gerald Frank Johnson's grave
Hi--I just read up on military markers and it looks like Mr. Johnson IS due for a marker, free of charge to his survivors. Did you know his family at all? In his obituary, it states he has a surviving daughter in IL. If you don't know her (or didn't know Gerald), I could write her and enclose a packet of info, in case there is nothing they've ordered to mark his grave. Let me know---thanx--Ann

I'm retired---I have the time. I'll see what I can find out tomorrow. Do you know of any of his living relatives? Neither of us may be able to make a request for his marker on our own. LMK---Ann

RE: Gerald Johnson's marker
Hi---I was out taking cemetery pictures yesterday--still no stone marker for Gerald. If he is a relative of yours, since he served in the military, I would think he would qualify for a military plate for his grave. ??? I see many graves that have only the bronze military plate as their markers. Good luck--Ann

Mona is Paul's aunt and just wanted to be sure Paul was connected to his mom. All is good.

Thanks so much for all your help. I'm still learning Find-A-Grave. It is wonderful.

Thank you, looks like both were made the same day but mine was first by the number. I sent a request to delete duplicate. If he turns out to be family, I will delete mine or transfer to other manager to decide.

Thanks again.

Duplicate memorial
Mona Tomlinson created a duplicate memorial for Paul the day after I made one. Is she family and do I need to delete my memorial or should she be asked to delete hers?

I'm okay either way, I just want to be sure a memorial is there and avoid duplicates when possible.

Thank you for the reply, I was afraid, I had upset you in some way. I have friends that have Dyslexia, so I understand what you mean.

Take care

Billy Pitcock
Libby - Is Billy buried in Willow Cemetery in Haskell, or Rockdale Cemetery in Haskell Co.? His joint marker with his wife is in Rockdale. Let me know and I'll try to get it straight.

Thanks for your note. So sorry about the death of Billy's daughter. I was going to delete Billy's memorial since you said it was a duplicate. I checked, and it's the only one I see. Maybe the other person deleted theirs?? You can let me know if I still need to delete mine. If you want these memorials transferred to you, just use the Edit function and ask for them, and I will be happy to transfer them.

The other is the Duplicate and she has been notified. You can tell whose is first by checking the Find A Grave Memorial Number at the bottom of the page, the numbers are assigned as they are posted.

Clark's in Fairview Cem. Wardsboro VT
Hello Libby... I see you are investigating Clark's in Fairview Cem, Wardsboro. Just was up there last week... those are my mother's ancestors. I've done a lot of work on them, if you have any questions, ask!

I updated the comments on Little Birdie's story - her parents had one more girl, then they must have split because the father took the other daughter to New Hampshire, and her mother, Eliza A Clark, seemed to be on her own. She eventually married Preston Higgins, and they lived quietly in Jamaica VT together.

Eliza's father is Osmer Newton Clark - a bit of a puzzle for us. He left his wife, Eliza Mahan, with 6 children in Vermont about 1847 - the 1850 census has him working on the Erie Canal, and started a new family (!) The family continued to name boys Osmer for a couple of generations though, so it's a puzzle. We found him (and his NY family) buried in Frankfort NY cemetery last summer (no stone).
Kind regards, Cathy Lilburne, Garrison NY

Hi---I don't live far from the Bella Vista Memorial Gardens---I will check back occasionally to see if he gets a permanent marker I can include on his memorial.

Harry Jackson
I thought this was the Harry B. Jackson in our IL. family but it is different one. I didn't find this out until the memorial management had been transferred to me. It is not Harry B. Jackson of IL. and Arkansas. Harry B. died in Little Rock and was buried in Almyra with most of the family . They do have the same birth & death years.

Taylors in Oak Grove - Coldwater, MI
Hi Libby,

I've found the locations of the other Taylors (E.P., Eliza, Harvey, Jabez, Melvin, Nellie, and Adelia) for which you've made photo requests. It's a large cemetery and they're all spread out but I hope to visit on Sunday and get their photos for you.

Yeah this one is hard. Elmira, IL has a marker for him there too. I know he is probably buried in Western but I did both because I thought those people looking at the marker in Elmira should know that I feel he is buried in Western. I added notes on the Elmira memorial that I thought Elmira marker was just a memorial grave site, and that he is really buried in Western. Got any ideal on a better way of doing it?

Their suggestion:
This is a duplicate of one that was made in 2005 that is transferred to you.
