RE: Samuel Page
A sentence less Yoda-like, it was not! :-) Sorry. Not one of my better works. More again, soon, though. Never time to type "boo". Gotta run.

RE: Ann Hogan
No worries - figured it could not hurt to ask. Thanks for posting the picture and the transcription!! It definitely gives me some possible clues.

Ann Hogan
Hi Bob, do you have any connection to the Hogan family? I am seeking information on a Sarah Hogan whose mother was named Ann Hogan and I am trying to figure out if this is her mother. Thanks!!

RE: Samuel Page
Sorry Bob, I do suggest he was born on 7 Nov 1721, which should be good for him being 72 on 5 Apr 1794, o.k.? 1725 is something else, altogether (re Stoneham, not Sam Page). --Barry

Thank you very much for all that you do! I was so excited when I discovered the Grave sites of Ephrian Wilkins and his family. I am his 3rd great-granddaughter.

By any chance do you have a map of the plots?
Could you take a photo of Jennifer Colter's headstone Plot 509 S which they said is in the flagpole section.

Many Thanks

Hi Bob. Please repost (or download and re-upload) your picture on memorial 60207091 to memorial 48177889 which is older, if incorrectly named. I am cleaning up the wrong information in Old North Beverly (never mind the simply misplaced junk, for now). Continued thanks for the photos. Barry

Cemetery Maintenance
Hi Bob,

There was a very small article in the Danvers Herald tonight about the problems with the Holten Street Cemetery. The last living trustee has died and there is no longer any group or individual helping to maintain this cemetery. You can read about the cemetery from a Boston Globe article at

I have mobility issues, but if not would help to do some of the maintenance work. Do you know of any individuals or groups that could help. One of my thoughts might be the Boy Scouts Troop 16 in Danvers. Do you have any ideas? I would hate to see the cemetery fall into disrepair.

Andrew Lipsett
Benjamin Goodhue

I'm trying to locate and photograph the graves of a variety of Massachusetts elected officials, and have a quick question regarding the grave of Benjamin Goodhue (1748-1814), Senator from MA 1796-1800. Your photo of the grave shows that it was erected in 1789, and speculates that it was put up 25 years before his death, which seems odd. Is it possible that the grave pictured is actually that of his father, Captain Benjamin Goodhue, and that Senator Goodhue is buried elsewhere? Any help you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hannah Crowninshield Armstrong
Hannah is NOT the daughter of Benjamin Williams Crowninshield! She is the daughter of Benjamin "Sailor Ben" Crowninshield (1758 - 1836) and Mary Lambert (1760 - 1851) both of Salem, Mass. My source is quite reliable - the Phillips Library of the Peabody Essex Museum of Salem, Mass. ( ) This library has quite a collection of letters, documents, artwork and more on this notable family. If you need more information, please contact me. Thank you in advance for correcting this error.

RE: Berry transfers, etc.
Thanks. Evidently Find A Grave messages (like photo requests) and now transfers, are getting blocked. I'll find them and fix them up.

RE: Eleazer Lindsey
It is discovered that the real Lt Colonel that this gravestone needs to be upon is from New Jersey and is a hero in that community. To the point, the community is named after him. It would have been easy enough to order the gravestone with the name and receive it without the government having any idea. The family, and this is just an opinion, saw the name and rank and without further research claimed the name as their ancestor. The evidence provided is without a doubt as much needed as possible to convince anyone. The Massachusetts SAR Headquarters has been made aware of the research and I've requested their own examination. It is my opinion that to safe guard our history, we must tell the truth. If this research is found wrong, I will be glad to admit to it.

Thanks for your reply and dedication!
