Maude Turner Scott #28363033
Any reason you listed her under maiden Name Scott.

NOthing on stone to indicate otherwise.

Plus Maude is listed in 1900 Census of Broadus (Sis) Brandis Turner as being born in Sep 1884

I figure from 17y 7m 28d she was born sep 23 1884.

Plus Brandis is in Hilltop cemetery.

Broadus (Brandis) is the son of Nathaniel Turner (1814->1861) And
Dorcas Sifers (1824->1881)

Both Died Buchanan County, Missouri

Lon Teter
Andrew Jackson Teter
Dear Ms. Mayfield,
I am curious about how you found the name "Gladys" for the infant daughter of Andrew Jackson Teter and Rosa Weeks Hodge Teter, buried in the family plot in Murdock, Ks. The daughter was born and died in 1886 and is identified on the tombstone only as infant daughter. I am a great-grandson of Andrew Jackson and Rosa Teter and have visited the grave numerous times. Their son, Harry Arthur Teter, was grandfather, and their grandson, Andrew Thomas Teter, was my father. Both Andrew Jackson Teter and Rosa Teter died before my father was born, and he did not have any information about the child who would have been his aunt.
thank you

Thank you so much for sharing your photos. I will be using one of your photos (Elias Evans #16324668) in supporting documents for DAR membership. Elias and two of his brothers were Civil War soldiers. Only two made it home, Elias and Elliott.

Lilly M Haas
It's just occurred to me to wonder if Haas may have been her maiden name, rather than a second married name?

Lilly M Haas
Hello, I see that you were the one who contributed the photograph of Lilly M Haas' headstone. Her birthdate is given as 22 Feb 1881 & her death date as 1 Dec 1971.

I have a Lillian M in my tree, born in 1881, married to a Hilton Asberry Murphy. He died in 1923, leaving his wife a young widow.

I'm wondering if she went on to marry someone named Haas?

Aside from her name and birthdate, there are two other things that make me wonder if this is the case. The first is that Hilton Asberry Murphy's sister, Flaudie Catherine Murphy, married into the Haas family. And the second is that Lilly M Haas' headstone is in the identical style to those of Hilton & Flaudie's parents, Calvin Columbus Murphy and Rossetta S (Dowell) Murphy.

I'm wondering if you are able to tell me if Lilly M Haas' grave is grouped with the Murphy family?

Thank you in advance.

Thank you so much for updating the grave sites for me. their Daughter Genelle Feemster Stevens was a very dear friend of mine. We did genealogy research together for thirty years before she moved back to WV. Even then we kept up with visits, phone calls and letters. I have copies of information on her family but will have to look it up, I do remember that her father was here in Ottawa with Genelle when he passed away.
You have done so much wonderful work I feel like you are a friend even though we have never met. Bless you for your generosity I know you have invested many hours and all for the benefit of others.
