Dear SFC Karban:
I want to thank you for your tireless work as a Findagrave volunteer. What the person who reported you to Findagrave for adding flags to the countless Veterans' memorials you have created must not understand is the years of service your gave of yourself to our country. The years of taking orders, and of following orders. So now, you devote yourself, as always, to helping others. And the respect, and esteem you tried to show Veterans by adding the American Flag to their memorials, is something only you and others who have served can truly understand. So the person..the rule keeper.. tattled..and Findagrave duly removed your flags because they weren't in the spot we are asked to put them. The tiny flags can now be found in the 'flower & msg' area. But know they aren't as meaningful as when you placed them on each memorial. If it had been a family member, making a request to remove one flag, you would have done it in a heartbeat. Thank you for caring Sgt Karban. And thank you for continuing to care by trying to show honor to so many forgotten veterans...the honor we should all have thought to give them. I hope the tattler is proud. But we are all proud of you and what you have done and continue to do for this nation. Fargo

|Barbara Baker Anderson||Sgt Rosemary Monroe|
Thanks for the pictures you contributed to Sgt Rosemary Monroe's memorial. I came across her memorial while filling in my family tree using find-a-grave. Although adopted, she was in my family and is my 4th cousin (I'm related to her ADOPTIVE family). Also, as a proud mom of a US Marine (my daughter), I am moved when I see other females in the military. Thanks again for your contribution both to Find-a-grave, but more importantly, to the service of this great country of ours!

Oh dear, I am so new at this but I will give it a try. I will need to do that for each of the Hardy's at Pleasant View, I assume. So here goes..

|Beth M||Hardy Infants|
Hello, I recently learned that we can use this site to connect family members memorials. I connected with a descendant of Beata Helegeson Hardy through one of her sons, J. Phillip Hardy. She was able to help me identify some of the family relationships for memorials you created.
You created posts for Peter B Hardy and Beata Helgeson Hardy buried in Pleasant View cemetery.
One of their sons is J. Phillip Hardy. Are you able to link him (see below).
Also, you created a post for two infants in the Pleasant View Cemetery in South Dakota. Ole Peter Philo Hardy and Howard Freemont Hardy.
Their parents are:
J. Phillip Hardy
Olivia (Ollie) Larson Hardy http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=124626634
The infants are also the grandchildren of Beata Helgeson Hardy and Peter B. Hardy
Are you able to add their relationships?
Beata was the daughter of Johannes and Anna Helgeson. She had several brothers that survived to be adults. Carl, Otto, Alfred, Harry, and one sister, Hedvig.
I am a descendant from her brother Harry Theodore Helgeson.
I visited the site of my Great Great Grandfather and took pictures that I posted here:
I also located the burial site of another brother, Alfred Helgeson on Find A Grave, who was buried in Vermillion, SD.
Would it be an imposition to ask you to add their relationships, if that is possible?
I am so very grateful that you took the time and energy to enter these on this site.

You are welcome . . . and thank you for the reference to George W 2012 burial because his obituary did not have the burial location. I will add him.

|Susan||Bryan Wayne "Goose" Van Gilder|
I have come across 2 memorials for Bryan "Goose" Van Gilder: Find A Grave Memorial# 111859779 in South Dakota & Find A Grave Memorial# 56912578 in Nebraska. I was wondering if he was moved to SD after initial burial in Wyuka Cemetery or if there is just a memorial in SD. Can you help with this dilemma?
