I have noticed that you left flowers for one of the Cowsills. Richard Cowsill of the famous Cowsill singing family now has a memorial on Find-A-Grave. His memorial is # 134960022. Would you leave a frame rating??
Thanks
Howard

Harry E. Antrim
Nancy, I see you left flowers for Harry on his birthday. Did you know him? Are you related? He is my 3rd cousin, twice removed. I wish I knew more about him. Such as, did he have a family?

He looks so much like my grandfather who was his 3rd cousin. My grandfather's mother was an Antrim.

Thank. J. Keith Cook in Omaha...Findagrave # 4886444

Hi Nancy

Doug Wheatcroft was my godfather. I notice you leave flowers for him. Did you know him?

His daughter Maureen contacted me yesterday for the first time ever. He died when she was only 8 years old. I'm looking for people who might have known him.

Catherine Denise Sargent
Blanche Sweet/ Sister of my greatgrandmother
Hi Nancy,

After pursuing 3000 hours toward licensure as a marriage and family therapist, I decied to take a break and look for a missing ancesotr on my family tree.

My grandmother and her brother were abandoned as children and adopted. We never knew who their birth mother was?

After a year long search, I finally discovered the skeleton in the closet with a newspaper article describing the cruel mother who left her children at the train depot.

Later, after finding the cruel mother's cemetary plot, I met the nephew.

The first thing he told me about her was "Did you know that her sister was the silent screen star Blanche Sweet? They used to spend time together in San Francisco"

I needed to ask him more information about her but at the time was just excited to get a picture of the missing ancestor which he had.

Bessie looked very much like Blanche who was the older sister. Also, my grandmother has resemblance to her as well as her daughter my aunt.

Do you have any information regarding Blanche's mother or father? Where she was born or any information regarding her parents?

Thank so much!

.

I found the cemetery of the birth mother who was named Bessie Fern Fairchild. The man at the cemeteray told me her nephew lived just down the street.
psychotherapist, my curiousity was triggered by a missing person on my family tree.

We were both from Lindsay and I hung around with him when we were kids.
I have noticed that you drop tributes to him a lot.
You can email me at pjdawson@sympatico.ca if you wish.

I was with him the night he went through the ice. It was a real storm that night, and in the morning they found him by looking at the round ridges worn into the ice from going in circles. (he was lost in the storm.)

Some people stay in your mind--that's why I remember him all the time, especially when I am up at Fenelon Falls.

Erica Thompson
Ellen Demming ~ Meta on the Guiding Light
Hello ~

Thank you so much for honoring my mother with your note on her site. I cried when I saw that people have been leaving their well wishes there!

I don't know how to reach the katzizkidz person who uploaded the pictures found on the site. I wonder if you know how to reach him/her?

The reason is because the top picture is not of my mother. It is of the first "Meta" who was on very briefly before Mom....Jone Allison, I believe (though I may have the spelling wrong)was her name.

Mom followed her in 1952 and was on both radio and tv in the beginning!

I hope that you can direct me to a place where I can correct things...

Thank you,

Erica Thompson - daughter of Ellen Demming

Hi Nancy- I was wondering what you might know about Jack Lait's family. My Grandfather was married to his duaghter Lois in the late '30s. but they divorced by 1940. Any clues to there family would be a great help in putting this picture together. Thanks.

Arthur Edmund Carew
Nancy- Thank you for providing so much information about Arthur Edmund Carew. It so happens that tonight I was watching "Charlie Chan's Secret", recently uploaded to the Internet Archive as a public domain movie- I do a show on local community access cable hosting public domain movies- and recognized Mr. Carew immediately. In looking for information after watching, was lead to your notes on this site- funny to have found the film so close to the anniversary of his birth. Your entry into this site was helpful, and the respect you have for these long gone but not forgotten celebrities is both touching and very appreciated. Thank you.

RE: Shell
I have found a lot of strength hearing from those that lost a spouse. I also find it empowering to do something that she would normally do.

Findagrave corrected the date of birth and switched to the current picture at my request. Shell made that jacket. I needed to show her with clothes she made. It took some work! It is also nice to see people still thinking of Shell and leaving virtual flowers and notes.

Life and Love
Thank you for your kind message for Shell Kepler. I was Shell's boyfriend when she passed away. Not only was she a great actress, great clothing designer, great cook; She was also the most amazing girl friend I have ever had.

When Shell passed, I was too tired to fight all the news sources who incorrectly stated she was 49, and who all ran with TMZ's report without confirmation. Shell's brother and I had been caring for her rapidly failing health for 3 months, and I only had 2 hours sleep the night she was taken to the hospital.

"Find a grave" was gracious to switch Shell's year of birth to the correct year as stated on her birth certificate. I don't know any women who want to be mistaken for being older.

Anyway, thank you for your kind words honoring the most amazing woman I have ever known.

I hope you have a wonderful new year
