Irma Lee Photo Request in Tampico
Ok, I have a marker that has Charles, B Wayne, Eugene, and Irma Lee on it, however, the photo isn't good. It is a light gray stone and engraving is such that I need a reflection disc to capture the writing. I used my lens for reflection to capture parts of the stone but I hate to post less than par quality photos. If you have a program that can enhance the writing, please do so. Perhaps I can go at another time of day and get a better photo. For now I will post what I have but will remove it if a better photo is taken.

Now, to the right of the stone is a marker for Irma Lee Shepard 1870-1966, which I suspect was Charles' wife and mother of the children. Unless she has another name, she has not been entered into the cemetery. If you do so, I will post the photo.

Milligans and Lee's in Tampico Cemetery
Charles - I was in the Tampico Cemetery tonight to get some photographs and ran out of daylight, but I believe the Hattie memorial should be Nettie, and I think Hattie/Nettie is linked to the wrong Frank Lee. Three markers are right together, Nettie, Francis M and Lee Milligan with Zella Milligan just a row ahead of this grouping, all in Section C. Please take a look at the photographs and location of the markers and let me know what you think. Also, there is a directory in the cemetery and there was no Hattie Lee listed. I know these are not your memorials but since you requested the pictures, I'm bringing this to your attention first. I will remove the Nettie picture if it really should be Hattie.

John Louis Lee
Hi Charles,

I hope you are doing well. John Louis Lee is actually buried out here in Vancouver, WA. I am not sure of the cemetery but I will try to find out for you. His brother, Loyal Sanford Lee, is still alive and lives here in a suburb of Portland called Gresham. He is doing quite well. His other brother, Laural Marshall Lee, died two years ago and is buried in Mayfield, KY. Hope that helps!

I noticed on another post that you were looking for Tippy's around Mississippi Co. Mo. There are several on the Missouri Digital Heritage database of death certificates for New Madrid, Scott and Stoddard Counties (these are close to Mississippi Co.) If you have specific names I can look them up, or here is the link I have Lee Cemetery on my list of cemeteries to go to, just don't know when I will get there.

James Ernest Gilham
Charles, just for the record, I noticed there were two entries for James Ernest Gilham with yours being a duplicate of Find A Grave #138053667 recorded on Oct. 30, 2014.

Thank you.

That's ok. Jennie could be buried at Barlow, but the only records we have on that cemetery is who bought the lots and the ones that have a tombstone. Last yr the started keeping records of all who are buried whether they have a stone or not. If you need anything else just let me know. Sorry I wasn't much help this time. Lisa

Ok, you just had a photo request for them in the Barlow cemetery and I was going to try to find them. Lisa

Added by Lisa on Apr 12, 2015 8:26 PM

Hi Charles, I check my Barlow cemetery book and John,Jennie and Thomas are not listed in there. Are you sure they are buried there and that they have tombstones?

RE: Gillham/Joslin

No. I've only researched the Joslin line.

RE: Gillham/Joslin

Most of the photos I have are all Joslin's. Grant County is right on the border of IA and WI, and no, I live in the middle of the state. I'll check my files to see if I have any further info, but I'm thinking most of mine is not in the Gillham line.

RE: Gillham Jeesie
It may be there, I just couldn't find it. I did walk up and down all the rows. Some of the markers were unreadable, so it could be one of those. I hope you find it and if I go out to that cemetery again I will relook for you. I'm sorry.

RE: Gillham/Joslin

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond.

To your message: You posted a picture of Margaret Joslin are you kin to this Gillham family as I have been working of the Gillham's for 20 years and I think Charles Gillham is the son of Thomas and Jane Carnes

I am related to the Joslin line through Evaline Margaret (Renick) Fowler, daughter of Lattimore Renick and Lucy Halibut Joslin, who was the daughter of Carlos Joslin and Mary Bostwick Joslin. Most of the Joslin research I've done has come from the Richland Center Brewer Library, which I'm sure is where the photo came from as the Library has many photos from family contributions.

I'd be happy to help in any way I can, although I don't really have much info on the Gillham side.

RE: Gillham Henry Clay
I'm pretty sure there isn't a stone for her anymore. This cemetery has a lot of missing stones (that we have record of existng previously), and stones that are completely illegible due to age. I know I found an old record that says he was next to someone named Marie. We have had some major winter weather here recently (notice the photos I posted were actually taken last summer!) So, as soon as the snow and ice melts I will take another look for her marker.

Sorry not able to help you. This memorial was made when I took stone photo from the cemetery across the street. I just went through and took all stone photos.
Sorry Karen
