|Larry Head||RE: Sponsored Page|
Hi - when I came across the Covina Argus newspaper article about how David and his brother-in-law (your great(?) grandfather), Perry C. Bashore had a "scientific experiment" (weight loss bet) going on, I had to add it to David's Find a Grave memorial. Thought it was an appropriate tie-in to the photo you'd posted and described as one taken by Perry Bashore following their 30-day fast. By the way I'm a great-great-grandson of Katie Overholtzer-Lewellen-Bashore through her daughter Elsie Lewellen-Perry; believe you and I have corresponded once or twice in the past 20-years or so. My Mom is Connie Timmons-Head. Take care.

|Robert Mitchell||Michael Bashore|
During your research of Michael Bashore, Did you ever run across any connection between a Robison/Robinson family in relation to the Bashore family?
Both are Pennsylvania families. I've come across a Bond (1868) in Miami Co, Ohio with Michael as the executor of the Estate of William Robison. The Robison families I'm trying to untangle and was curious of this Michael Bashore.

I am Ragna Almenning Brunsvik's granddaughter and would be glad to manage this memorial for you, if you wouldn't mind and have no problems with that. I don't remember what you need to transfer management to me, but let me know if there is anything I need to do to assist in a transition, if that is what you decide.

to Mel Bashor,
I am the daughter in law of Jennie Nelson
Hall. I feel sure the picture you have posted
for Jennie is not her. I have many pictures of
her. None that look like that.

You are welcome. Yes, I saw that he had lost his life in a race. It is sad, I lost my 19 year old son in 1991 due to a motorcycle wreck.

|Alan Steinfeld||RE: John Gaston Peacock|
Thanks Mel. I'll try to send the Find A Grave folks a message but as you probably know, they often don't respond.
My brother met John Peacock on several occasions but I only recently learned of his baseball history. Thanks for adding him to Find A Grave.

John Peacock is the uncle of my brother's wife. I would like to connect him to his father, Frank Peacock, Find A Grave Memorial# 87686390. Can you do that? I note that Find A Grave is now managing the memorial but there does not seem to be any way to contact them to get this attachment made.

Galesburg's adopted son Evar Swanson elaborated during a baseball discussion in 1972 why he entered a contest for "running the bases" while playing Major League Baseball for the Cincinnati Reds.
During games of a doubleheader on September 15, 1929, Swannie circled the 360-foot jaunt around the bases in 13.3 seconds. Although several have tried to excel the feat, the record still stands 83-years later.
Swannie pointed out that in the earlier days contests including foot races, fungo-hitting, homer hitting, bunting and catchers throwing into barrels were common. He admitted that, "although we participated for our pride, we also did it for the money. I made $75 for winning my base-running contest and that was pretty good money in those days. The most I ever made in one season playing professional baseball was $8,500 a season."
