Thank you so much for the information. For many years I had no idea what happened to her after EJDodd divorced her and took her children. I think her son Lester died young but he had a twin sister Hester who married. My grandfather was a son from her first marriage.

Do you know if this is the Mary Ann who's maiden name was Flinn? Was she first married to Elijah Jefferson Dodd in Morgan County? I believe she married Lewis David Simmons in 1896.

Thank you so much for trying to find the stone for Elizabeth. It always makes me so sad when a grave is unmarked but I know so many of the old ones are missing or have been destroyed over time. Again thanks and have a great day. Linda Albrecht Maret

|Kenneth D. Tyler||Sharon Moore Memorials|
Thanks for the updates on memorials that Sharon created while she was alive. Although, I have maintained her memorials in the past waiting for her nieces to take them over that hasn't happened. I have not been maintaining them lately, however, as I have been very busy working on my own. Would you be interested in having me transfer them to you? Thanks.

|Magpie Case||RE: Huldah Button|
Thank you again. Since there is no stone for her in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, are you working from the cemetery records? I ask because if you are, then I have to assume there is no more information to be found. She has been a brick wall for me for decades. All I know is that she was widowed in Connecticut before the 1830 census, and moved with a large group including her 3 daughters to Christian County Illinois before the 1840 census. I have no maiden name for her and no name for her husband. Mercy and Horace Morgan moved their family from Christian County to Springfield around 1848. The other 2 daughters remained in Christian County with their families.

Just wanted to let you know I received a reply from Graceland, and Uncle Fred is there and the information has been corrected. Thanks again!

Deeply appreciate the obituary you provided me on Gershom Greening. I, too, appreciate walking cemeteries, and I, too, am working on documenting graves in my own area as well. I suppose that's why many of us participate in this Web site. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness--deeply appreciate it.

Thanks for your message - I will get in touch with Graceland as soon as I can to correct the possible error. It makes sense, as all the rest of the family are at Graceland. (Fred was my uncle.)

I see there is an infant Van Dyke in Springfield, Ill. You have William Van Dyke as father, do you have any idea who the mother is for this child? I have reason to believe that I might be related. Just wanting to get more information please!
