RE: Alice Galant
I do not have a complete obituary for her husband, Alexander Galant, only death notice, which mentions his daughter, Mrs. Pauline Ewing, can you send me a copy of his obit. As you probably already know, she had a daughter Stella, who marries Blake Rawles, maybe her middle name is Bacquet, for Stella Bacquet Galant?

I also have her obituary, and I was at first confused by the name Desboney, however, I spoke with Eugene Galant/Gallant's son who didn't recognize the name Desboney, so I did some more checking and came up with Alice Elizabeth Galant's Illinois death record on Ancestry, which indicates her maiden name as Bacquet. I also spoke with Stella Galant Rawles granddaughter, and Eugene's son, both of who verified the maiden name as Bacquet. Eugene's son also sent me a picture of the Galant Family in Pennsylvania, which also indicates Alice (Bacquet).

So yes, I am sure her maiden name was Bacquet, and her death record also indicates her father as Joseph Bacquet.

Thank you for the suggestions. I've updated John Fay's bio. Regarding Elizabeth, I, too, found those articles. They are my 2x great grandparents. I was sickened.
Thank you.

I am so sorry for the inconvenience! I have no idea how I sent IL instead of AR. I had it right in my mind. Thanks for being so kind about it!

You are absolutely right. I, too, have she was born in Black Rock, AR, but it is located in Lawrence Co., AR. For some reason, the Find A Grave system does not have Black Rock as an option, so I couldn't indicate Black Rock. Perhaps Black Rock is a very small community. Thanks for much for checking further!

RE: Note.....
BjJ, I have a question and you seem very knowledgeable about F. A. G.. When someone is born in Ball Township or Cotton Hill, how do you list birth place on F. A. G? I don't think those options are available. What do you do when a place name is from another time and not used today?
Thanks!

Samuel Johnson
thank you so much for the obit for Samuel Johnson. His brother John is my great-great-grandfather.
Are you a relative? I would like to make contact with descendants of Samuel. His father died when he was 1, his mother when he was 12. John's son Isaiah came west to Kansas, and our family has lost contact
again thank you

RE: Sarah Lynn Hall Patterson
Thank you so very much. I was fairly certain, based on her obit and other family members being buried in Oak Ridge, that the Calvary notation was incorrect. I try to keep my tree as accurate as possible, so I do appreciate you getting back with me and your efforts to keep things as accurate as possible on findagrave. Many Thanks!

On the page for the above mentioned it tells in what would have been the obituary that she would be buried at Oak Ridge Cemetery. However, at the bottom of the page where it shows place of burial, Calvary Cemetery is listed. Can you please provide the correct cemetery name? Thank you for the correct info. Beck' from IN

Mora Lindquist (# above) has your lovely photo of his, his wife's & her 1st husband's group shot.

Would you kindly I.D. under the photo in Caption. Also please make sure that it appears on the other two memorials as well.

I know it's a bother, but for others it may make a difference.

Thank you so much for your help and for your photography work.

William Drake
BjJ,
Thanks much for the obit. It is interesting to me that all of his life the family insisted that William was American born. I have the record of his birth from Germany as well as the ships log with him (2 years old) and the family arriving in the port of NY on 12 Oct 1834 so the obituary only confirms that he insisted on being thought of as a native son.

I do wish I could find any news of his half sister Matilde but, as with many women, she is lost in the history books until i can find a record of marriage...

I am uploading the log...

Gordon

RE: Katie Dyche Good #53328051
I found her late last night and she is the daughter of Charles and Nettie Dyke. The name was spelled Dyche and Dyke in different documents. I'm related to Fannie Pilcher Dyke, wife of William. I'm sure they are buried at Oak Ridge too and I've been documenting Dykes trying to find where they are buried. Thanks for making such rapid corrections/additions.
