RE: Lucinda Phillips Reed #94896588
Thanks for the information. I left the note because I was not sure where the information came from. I have no source for that particular information myself.

I am constantly running across your name on various genealogy sites and have come to consider you a reliable source. Keep up the good work.

Hi Scott,
Just happened to notice the message on your flower, and something stood out--it should read: "we mourn your loss..."

Shirley Ann Rankin
RE: William Nanney #80231308
Hi Scott,
As you well know Missouri had militia units. I found two records for a William Nanny on the Fold3 website. There are no identifying details to be absolutely positive that this is the same William Nanny from Ste. Genevieve. But for arguments sake, let's say it is him.

Missouri Digital Heritage shows 3 men called William Nanny:

1. W. Nanny, Private, Co. D, 78th Enrolled Mo. Militia.

2. William J. Nanny, Co. B, 12th Regt., Mo. State Militia Cavalry.

3. William J. Nanny, Co. L, 3rd Regt., Mo. State Militia Cavalry.

William Nanny was certainly of the right age to have been in the military, but whether these three entries indicate the same man, I cannot be sure. Unfortunately, none of the records I have located show his name as William "J." Nanny.

Thank you Scott, for your own Service to Our Country. In reading 'your' story, it seems you have dedicated your life to the service of others, and still giving. And thanks too, for sending the information to add to Bernhard's memorial. "Each Day Counts", Loretta

Bernard Bahr gravestone
Hi Scott,
I was in the cemetery yesterday and found Bernard's tombstone damaged, in two pieces. Do you know anyone descended from his line? Meena Winters was a great granddaughter but I believe she has passed away. The stone is broken in half and should be repaired or it will lead to deterioration. I'm not certain but it also looks like it's been taken out of the Bahr family plot and sitting outside it. I don't know if this is vandalism but the stone is large and wouldn't have fallen and broken without some help. Any ideas?

Alan Cambron
RE: Reed Line
My Reed family is on my mother's side. The farthest I can trace back is Samuel Reed born in VA in 1834. He later lived in IND and finally Hamilton County IL around 1880, where the Reed family stayed put. Interestingly, my Cambron side was from Perry county MO, and there were names on your list I recognized as having married some Cambron's. No one specific, but I recognized some last names.

Aaron Hammers
I think you've done a great job! We have no idea when the spelling change happened. It is obvious some of his children kept Hamor and some went to Hammers. I think leaving the ilnk to his wife's memorial where she is listed as Hamor will help anyone searching for the Hamor spelling. These situations are always tricky.
