Michael B. Scanlon [Mt. Olivet D.C]
It appears that he played ball during his time as a teenager in the Civil War. Using his Army pay in 1866 bought a bar/poolhall @ 9th & S in D.C. bearing his name for 65 years. Pushed for forming of D.C. Baseball and located their 1st field, and helped chose location for Griffith Stadium it's longtime ballpark. Founded D.C. team in 1871...Info in Shirley Povich's History of Senators c 1954.

John A Kelly 102188463
Hello Adam, My name is Paul Turner, Find A Grave Member # 48125792. I do research on the 134th NYS Volunteer Infantry Regiment, I had an ancestor who served in the unit. I've established a Virtual Cemetery for the unit which contains 308 soldiers and counting, plus one woman nurse who served with the unit throughout the war.

I've added photo's of John A. Kelly's Headstone and two regimental flags to his memorial.

If you transfer his memorial to me I'll immediately add his military record and somewhere down the line any genealogical information I can find on him.

Thanks for creating his memorial.

Paul Turner

F John Walker
William E. Walker - Find A Grave Memorial# 73395290
I am researching some Walker Ancestors in Cincinnati. With other people buried at Spring Grove Cemetery, there is usually a plot location.

For example: Garden LN, Section 67, Lot 36, Space 1

That sort of thing.

Since there are over 500 Walkers at Spring Grove, this becomes important trying to figure out families that are buried together.

For William E. Walker, would you be able to find his plot information... where he is buried?

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Memorial Transfer of Norman Edward "Norm" Wallen & Sophia Walentowski

I was wondering if you would be able to transfer the memorials of my fifth cousin Norman Edward "Norm" Wallen (#51381161) and his wife Sophie Walentowski (#73865090). My FindAGrave contributor ID is #47999748. I have wanted to link Norman to his birth parents, Frank & Stella Walentowski, who are also interred at Holy Cross Cemetery. If this could be done, then it would be greatly appreciate.

Hi again,
From another section, I noticed one section with a lot of temporary markers; so I went looking and found them. If you are notified of when the permanent markers go in let me know. I'm more than happy to take photos again. I'll also keep them on a list to check now and then.
Best Regards, Sandy

You did a great job Adam on Alfred's Find A Grave memorial regarding his brief professional baseball career with the 1871 Rockford Forest Citys, and his Civil War service with the 11th Illinois Infantry, Company D.

Clarence Williams
Hi, I posted photos from AC Cemetery which you can remove if you choose. There is no grave stone, only the "85" site marker. Next to this was stone for Amelia Williams 1845-1909..don't know if she is related.

George and Mary Ann Rysdale
Thank you so much for the pictures of George and Mary Ann Rysdale headstones. Were you able to read what was on George's headstone? I am unable to read it from the picture, but thought/hoped it might have been readable in person.
Have a nice day.

RE: Walter F. Hewett
Thank you, wasn't sure if you visited the cemetery or not. I knew they were buried in D.C. I think his father was more successful than Walter was.

Walter F. Hewett
Hi, just saw that you found my cousin, Walter. Do you think you could find his father at the same cemetery, Robert C. Hewett? He was president of the Washington Senators baseball organization in the 1880's. I believe he died in Aug. of 1889.

Thank you,
Kelly Hewitt Beamer

RE: House family
Hi and thank you so much for your generous offer.

The Houses are not a direct line but are aunts, uncles and cousins, especially when they tie to my Morningstar line. So, if you have a closer tie and since you've done a lot of the work, please feel free to keep them. On the other hand, if you wish to transfer them, I would be more than glad to maintain them and add any information I have that is presently missing. My member number is 47507487.

Thanks again,
