Gyures in Glouster, Ohio
I'm just curious as to whether you have any special connection or information on the Gyures in the Glouster area of Athens County, Ohio. My mother's family has many connections there. Thanks!

No "Herrens" here. Thanks.
Those folks are the parents to Richard's mother, Bertha Marie (Bivens) Herren.
Good Grief, must have too much "Late night" researching.

Watson graves at Welborn Cemetery
Thank you for the information on Watson burials at Welborn Cemetery. Mina and Carlotta (Lottie) had TB and that was the reason that the family moved from Iowa to Missouri. My grandmother Erma was their younger sister. helen patricia

Hi Kristina

You sent an update for his parents but his parents have a different surname. If his mother remarried, I'd be pleased to add her, or if he was adopted and kept his given surname, then I'd add both. But I need to know from you what the status was for the different surnames before I link Richard to parents. Thanks very much.

Reply: Both people I submitted as parents to Richard have the surname Herren. I am not sure what you are writing about.
The mother is:
Bertha Marie Bivens Herren
the father is:
George Washington Herren

Elizabeth Bay

I see that you have posted a photo of Elizabeth Bay's gravestone in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Coffey county, and I was wondering if you were able to read the dates on the headstone? I'm unsure of the exact date of birth and death of my ancestor and I can't quite make out the dates on the photo. Any info you can provide would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Why would you post a gravestone picture on a memorial that already has a very good picture of the same gravestone? Find A Grave Memorial# 18572503 - If you are related, I would be happy to transfer the memorial to your care.

I finally found him, he's listed on the muster rolls as Richard Jefferson and likewise buried that way. Find A Grave Memorial# 832940. The date of death they show is May 29, 1920, but he died according to obit May 22, 1920 in La Junta, Colorado.

Jefferson Richards Find A Grave Memorial# 154733686
Hi Bill,
will you take a look at the records there and see if you can find this soldier? I can't find him on the grave locator and he served in the 2nd Colored Troops Co A. Can't find him on the adjutant general's report either.

His obit is on the memorial and the 1865 Fort Scott census shows him serving. He's listed in the household of Andrew and Jane Jones. I checked Jones too but didn't find him.

Elizabeth Bay in Pleasant Hill Cemetery

I see that you've submitted a photo for Elizabeth Bay's grave in Pleasant Hill Cemetery:

I was wondering if you had transcribed the stone at the time? Unfortunately I'm unable to read the inscription on the photo, and am pretty sure this is the final resting place of one of my ancestors that I've been looking for for a while. Many thanks in advance for your help.
