|Jean Avery Feaster||Silas & Julia Kerr Sparks|
Silas and Julia were adoptive parents to my husband's great grandfather, Edgar Rudolph Feaster a/k/a Edward Feaster. Since they already had a son named Edward when they took in Edgar/Edward, they changed his name. Their Edward died when drug by a horse when he was about 16 years old. Their daughter, Mary, never married and died without having children. The other Kerr on the tombstone (John) was Julia's brother who traveled with them from Pennsylvania to Kansas. This is just what I remember off the top of my head . . .

I appreciated your setting up links to this man's parents.
If you have questions about Civil War medicine, you should contact Terry Reimer, who is the reference librarian at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine. Her email is:
My specialty is research on physicians who served the Confederacy in a medical capacity. When a question comes along in that area, she will often refer it on to me.

If you can provide the names of the families that do not wish thier names added I'll be sure not to add them. I drove 4 hours today to take vol photo's today at Haviland and just ended up photographing the entire thing. I have no connection to any of the families.

|Shelley Smedley||Phebe Johnston|
HI, I recently discovered I drive by Rosedale Cemetary twice a week, and am hoping to full fill photo request for this cemetary. To my understanding there is no regular caretaker here and I am not sure where to look for burial records. I am going to ask around in the area. Your request for Phebe Johnston states you think they may be buried here. Can you share any other information that may help put me in the right direction. Other family names, possibly the area in which she lived? I have found some of my ancestors in this cemetary and others in another a few miles away. The other is actually on private land behind an old farm house. If we can't find Phebe in Rosedale, might she be in Halterman?

|mrt||RE: Mary Newkirk|
You are very welcome. I forwarded the correction on the birth and death dates to the person who originally created this memorial after I posted the photo. She has already corrected both the birth and death dates using the photograph as evidence. I looked in the general vicinity of this grave for both of Mary's parents' graves, but was not successful. I plan to return and take a closer look in the older part of the cemetery for Henry Newkirk's grave soon.
