Lillian Hulvey
You posted a picture of Lillian Hulvey's tombstone at West View Cemetery in Sweetwater, TN. I wanted to thank you. My paternal grandmother was Helen Hulvey (Barnes) the oldest daughter of O.C. Hulvey and his wife Geneva Sillings. There is a short biography of Col. Hulvey in Tennessee and Great Tennesseans due to his involvement with the Tennessee Military Institute. I never knew they lost a child.

Sherlocks Cousin
Isaac Burleson Memorial
I think you are right - This Isaac is not the same as the Montgomery, NC Isaac Burleson/Burleyson, who was a 5th G-Grandfather of mine. Thanks for posting the comment in the bio. His Will never mentions children that I have listed.

Victoria Meier
Louvisa Jane Vann Young
I was wondering if there is any further information regarding Louvisa Vann Young, such as who her father and mother was. Do you have this information?

Joel Mason
Griffith Cemetery-Hope Well Springs, Monroe County Tennessee
Joy, thank you for all the recent work that you have done at the Griffith Family cemetery. I have a couple of cousins that have been there and based on what they described, it sounds like you really worked in a difficult situation. Can you tell me if you happen to have any sweeping or wide views of the cemetery/plots that you took a picture of that you could post? Thank you again, Joel Mason

Thankful For JOY
Thank you Joy Ten Times a Million for taking the time to find my grandfathers grave and my father's infant brother's. And taking the photo's for our family to now have record. We live so far away and as time passes the dates and stories get faded like blue jeans. We don't have to wonder or guess anymore. You completed the story for us. We will be forever and eternally Thankful. Always, Laura

Civil War soldiers
Thank you for your generosity of spirit. Your help in finding the burial sites of the Civil War soldiers of Monroe Co. Tn, has done much to get these men included in the tombstone and burial place survey at the ETHC. You have done much to preserve these soldiers for both research and remembrance.

Found your pic of the tombstone marking the resting place of my grandfather, Lonnie E. Watkins, on the findagrave Website. Would like your permission to use the photo for "source" verification on my family tree.
Thanks, Lonnie Watkins

Mary A Sloan-Bird
Isaac Burlison Death date

My records indicate that Isaac probably died in 1846 in Monroe Co. There are records that show he made land transactions in 1843 and 1844 in Monroe Co.
Researchers with the Burleson Family Assn. also believe the date put on the stone is an incorrect year.

Frances Rogers
Bas Shaw
Hi, Joy! Thanks for the info about Bas--I have changed the memorial to reflect that, and I also removed the link to Samuel as father. The Shaws and the Kirklands are enough to drive a researcher crazy! I had wondered about an Irish ancestry when Bas seemed to be Indian.

Shirley Clowers
William & Dezzie Clowers
Thank you so much for the information on William and Dezzie Clowers. To the best I have been able to determine, William Clowers was the half-brother of my husbands grandfather, James Manual Clowers. The Clowers family and some of their true names has been very difficult to track and these death certificates certainly help. Thank You, Shirley Clowers
