Newhouse Family
Bill - thanks so very much for the transfer of my Newhouse family. I'll do my best to fill in the bios of their lives as best I know it. I appreciate all your work and cooperation with this little cemetery and I'm trying to find someone who can go there and see if any other markers can be found.

RE: Bass Family
Hi Bill, John Basse would be my 9th Greatfather also. Makes for quite an interesting story. Thanks for your help putting me on the right trail. Take care, Scott

RE: Bass Family
Hi Bill, where do you weight in on the controversial heritage of our common ancestor John Basse 1616-1699 and his spouse Keziah Elizabeth Tucker. Son of Capt. Nathaniel Basse or not. It seems the University of Virginia and the colonial societies don't accept us. It seems a little more clear that we are descendants of the Chief of the Nansemond Indian Tribe, even though the tribal association won't take us either. Scott

RE: Bass Family
Hi Bill, thanks for the info on where to search. I do need to get back onto ancestry, I was on it for a month when I first started working on my family to fill time after I retired. I have a family tree started on there that I need to get back to correct and finish it. Since then I have been just using Find A Grave and Family Search. I do have quite a bit of info I can't put on Find A Grave because I don't know where they are buried. Thanks again for all your help and the transfer of Isabel Fitzgibbon. Scott

RE: Bass Family
Hi Bill, I sent a couple emails to the yahoo address, hope it is still active. So if I read the one email correctly, you were able to trace the ancestors of James Porter Bass back to John Basse and John is the first person we have in common. You were able to that quickly, I can see by the information you passed on that I don't get the most recent records by using Family Search as my records data base. You made quick work of it. I'm pretty new at this stuff, I see I have a lot of tricks to learn yet.
I showed my dad the information you passed along on his Father and his family. James Porter and Minnie Florence Meredith are definitely his Grandparents. He remembers meeting his grandmother and Uncle Cecil a few times when he visited his father when he was living in Ecorse. They lived together in Ecorse also at that time.
When his Uncle John Grady Bass died in 1986 one of John's daughters (He thinks) called him to let him know. She also told him where his Dad was buried, but he can't remember the name of it. Just that it was a small cemetery He had not heard of before. He did say it was not on Grosse Ile. If He has a marker one day someone will take a picture and post a page for him. I have found most of James Porter Bass's family and his parents John H. and Susan Katherine Bass and have been busy posting edits and links on Find A Grave. Take care Scott

RE: Isabel Fitzgibbon
Hi William, That is amazing that I contact you about his Aunt Isabel and find a cousin on his father's side of the Family. Since I have been working on our family history for the last couple of years I have gotten the feeling that my Dad felt regret about losing touch with his Father. All He had been able to tell me was his name James Clifford Bass and that he was from Tennessee. Someone from the Bass Family had contacted him to told him that he had died but he can't remember what cemetery He is buried in (Some small cemetery in the Downriver area of Southern Wayne County He thinks) I live in Taylor, Michigan.
My Dad birth name was James Clifford Bass Jr. I can send you copies of the Marriage License and other documents if like. I can pass on my Dad and our family history to you. It looks like the Bass Family has a new branch. I am about to head out for the evening but I can send you that information to your private e-mail address tomorrow. I have had 3/4 of my family history, it is hard to get going when on it when you have so little to start with. I would greatly appreciate any info on the Bass Family you can pass along. Thanks, Jim

RE: Isabel Fitzgibbon
Hi William, I will take her if you have no problem with that. I will just list her as a cremation, location of ashes unknown and add the info and family links to her page. Thanks for all your work and contributions to Find A Grave. My Great Aunt Isabel is the third relative I have found among your pages at Woodmere Cemetery. Take care, James Robinson

Isabel Fitzgibbon
Hi William, I came across your memorial page (131950448) for my Dad's Aunt Isabel at Woodmere Cemetery. I went to Woodmere to get a photo of her marker if there was one. The man at the office declared that she wasn't there after looking at the interment book for that year for 15 seconds. He has done that to me twice before and I have gone back later and other people have found their grave locations. I tried to get him to look for her in the index cards by asking if it was possible that she was cremated there, but he blew me off saying if she was she is not there. Since there was not a picture on the page and you only have name and dates I was thinking you created the page from a cemetery record or listing. I was wondering if you had any info that could help locate her grave site.
I noticed one of the family names on your bio page was Bass. My father was adopted when he was 15. His biological father was James Clifford Bass. He married my grandmother Joyce Violet Raubolt in 1937 in Wood County, OH. That record lists his parents as James Bass and Florence Meredith and his birth in 1910 in Waverly, TN. The 1940 census states he was born about 1907 in TN. I believe 1907 is closer, my grandma was under age and lied saying she was born in 1916 when she was born in 1921. My guess he was lying about his age also. I did find a 1910 census record in Tennessee with Father James P. Bass, Mother Minnie F. Bass, and their son James C. Bass born about 1907 in Civil Disrtict 2, Humphreys, Tn. Waverly being the county seat. I was wondering if that matches any of the Bass Family information you have. Thanks in advance for any help on either subject, James Robinson

RE: William Edward Mann
Thanks for all the wonderful information. I have been working on the MANN family all day. Have to get ready now for my granddaughter's softball games but I have all the census for William James MANN and wife Mamie Lemar "Lemma" GRANADE. Have followed their children too and still believe that the Wm James MANN you have born and died in 1916 did not have a name and the marker on findagrave without a name is his marker. Also have his death certificate with no name and just infant male MANN d. 30 May 1916 in Cullman Co, AL. Anyway, you have been wonderful to help with all of this. I have to leave now but take care.

RE: William Edward Mann
I am trying to get the cemetery photo put on your memorial for William Edward MANN. Once that is done I will try and delete the duplicate but will have to get to the original owner for the final deletion but I think he will do that. It is quite interesting that William Edward had a brother named William MANN that died earlier. Humm! All I know is wife's obit had his name as William Edward MANN,so does SSDI and cemetery photo, but marriage has Edward MANN. I need to follow him through the census as I am sure you have.

The Lady in Black
Emerling/Ranz transfers

I wish you had let me reply before you transferred the memorials for Henry Emerling and August Ranz to me. I'm not certain that they are actually the people you think they are. I came across these people before in my research and was able to track their travels, and there's much that does not add up, other than the names being the same. I'm transferring them back to you. Thanks for thinking of me, but since there is much doubt on my part, you can have them back and perhaps someone else can claim them.

George T Courson 49138556
While researching my family I traced my Aunt Dot (Dorothy Courson) back to George T Courson. In his bio it has Dorothy married to Robert Delano which is completely understandable since everyone called him Bob, but his name was really Frederic Shriver Delano. Anyway, when referenced Dorothy to her parents she of course showed up on both of their memorials. Just wanted to let you know where the info came from. Patje
