|Maria Williams Murrah||Davis Cousin's....|
I saw a lot of the Davis family at Aunt Shelby's funeral. I reconnected with many of my Davis cousin's whom are also your cousin's. We have all decided to get together down the country and share information, picture's.....go to the Davis Cemetery....which is all our family.....go to the other family cemeteries..... Kind of a small Davis Cousin's family reunion and attempt to reconnect and correct the family tree which so many have no information or incorrect information about. Cousin Lucy is older than my mother....and my mother is 75. Sharp as a tack....and we have access to a lot of very detailed family bibles and old obits etc. If you are interested.....lemme know. I talked with Carl Davis tonight. He called me. He wants to put together a Davis family reunion.... The kind my family used to have..... with hundreds of people coming from other states....the mountains...etc. Marie

|Maria Williams Murrah||I need help|
Hey cousin.... I saw you have connections to a man that our family elders said was my aunt/your cousin who passed on the 10th of this month biological father. She and I tried to find out more about him before she died. There is a very interesting story surrounding this...and there is a marriage license that was filed for with Mr. Hampton "Hamp" Young and my grandmother at the Orangeburg courthouse. My aunt was born 3 months before his first son with his wife..... His memorial number is 49156673
If you know anything about this man or any of his family, I sure would like to know. Thanks, Marie

|Susan Truett Hovermale||Miranda's husband's obit|
Are you on Ancestry? I found this obit there for Miranda's husband:"After a short illness, A. G. Batton 66 years old, a former resident of Biloxi, and a member of one of the oldest of Mississippi families, also father of J. C. Batton, the well known councilman of this city, died some time last night about twelve miles north of Gulfport, and about five miles from Nugent, on the Gulf and Ship Island railroad, where he was engaged in chicken-raising and farming. It appears that Mr. Barton became ill sometime yesterday afternoon, and the news of his death was not received here until this morning. Mr. Batton was born at Rockport, Copiah county, where he lived until 1894, when he came to Biloxi. He was well known here and had many friends in this city and also at other places. He had gone to the farm of which his son, R. E. Batton, owns a part, about a year ago. The deceased leaves a wife, two daughters, Mrs. Fred Eaton and Miss Emma Batton, and three sons, J. C. Batton of Biloxi, R. E. Batton of Gulfport and Joseph Batton of New Orleans. He was a member in good standing of the local lodge of the Woodmen of the World, member of which will participate in the burial services. The body will be brought to this city, and the funeral will take from the Batton residence, on Lameuse street, tomorrow afternoon, interment to be made in the Biloxi cemetery".
Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Records, Book 3, page 5: Mr. Batton was 65 years old when he died from peritonitis. He was a farmer.

hey, According to Ancestry.com she is my 3rd cousin once removed. I don't know any descendants, but if I discover any, I will let you know. Most ancestry researchers have the date of her birth as Oct 7, 1948, but I am not sure where they got that info.

|Maria Williams Murrah||Thank you|
For leaving memorials on so many of the family pages. We have a lot of cousins girl. I am happy to have found that you are one of mine. I have a picture of William Paul Davis that I will add to his memorial page soon. There are many twins in our Davis, Spires, and Williams line's. My great grandaddy John William Davis and Viola Spires Davis had at least 5 sets of twins. They're buried at the Davis family Cemetery and are marked by Bricks only if memory serves me correctly. We have definitely got to get together sometime soon and talk. I have added a good many Davis family pictures to great grandaddy John William Davis children's pages....am still pulling more relatives in and attaching to their families. I have even taken and added picture requests at cemeteries for non family members from the request board. So much to do. So much to share. So slow am I....lol. Hugs, your cousin Maria

|Maria Williams Murrah||.....another thing|
..... My daddy had colon cancer. My aunt Brenda died from it....and I had polyps removed that would have turned to cancer. I wonder if this comes from the Davis side??? Heart issues. Diabetes and kidney problems seem to run in the family as well.

|Maria Williams Murrah||RE: Hello Cousin|
Great to meet you cousin. I am still working on things and I have boxes full of documents, notes, and pictures. I have a good bit of information on the Spires and Williams line's as well. I'm getting older and am slower. I am hoping to find a couple of family members to share all with. I don't want to let all the information and history die with me. I have relatives that have trunks full of old pictures and so many documents that have promised to give it all to me passed from my great grandmother and grandfather to my great uncle to me. I will be adding along and along. My computer is down so I have to use my tablet until it gets repaired. Hope you had a great fourth!!!!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my memorials. I have to leave a very special thank you for your visits to Woojin Seon, Sunwoo Kim and Dongjin Seo, three victims of the Sewol Ferry sinking of April 16, 2014. The Sewol victims are very close to my heart, so it means the world to me to see them being remembered and honored here on FG.
I hope you have a beautiful weekend.
Thank you again,
