I thought it would be a good one to keep for example, but it's gone.

RE: Hervey
They look beautiful. Thank you!! I used to only just take the headstone, never the upright if there was one. Now that I have a scanner I can take all the photos I want (and do). Can you imagine someone lodged a complaint against me here? I get a notice from them but no telling of who or what. I have always been nice or at least civil to all here. I've asked for more information.

Hi there. Keeping cool? Would you add your nice photo of the Hervey upright to my memorials I have for William R. and Browning Hervey? Thanks.

Thank you for the photos.
On the memorials I have changed the surname spelling to match the headstones for Mr & Mrs Seminoff . Also, I moved your photos to the top

Take care,

RE: Edward & Wanda Gibbs
Thank you so much B.J.! I'm sorry I didn't have these memorials ready when I had Aunt Lahoma's posted. I'm pretty new to all of this. Very happy that she and her brother are buried near each other. Thank you once again for all you do!

Have a great day, Lyn

The name as listed on the memorial is the way it was shown in the ledger and should be correct. I have returned it so no longer have easy access to it. I do recall when posting this because of being out of state I sort of took a second look to determine the cemetery, and this was the one (funeral home) where it was shipped. Thanks for your help.

RE: Olga Buell
Hi B.J., I sent a message explaining how Olga's maiden name was Balch and that McElwee is her first husband's surname. I believe, it's my speculation, that her son by Hugh McElwee, James Irvin McElwee, had the name but on her marker. My genealogical research has Census proof of Olga and her son living with her mother Jennie Balch months after Hugh McElwee's passing. I also have Census proof that there son was the stepson of George Buell, Olga's second husband.

Hope that clears things up.

Thank you for attempting to locate and photograph this memorial. Pierce Bros. at this location is the cemetery shown on the funeral home ledger in Oklahoma where the death occurred. I guess there's always a chance a change was made or perhaps the family here didn't have the proper name, but this is what was shown. Appreciate your help.

RE: Lemuel Houser
When I created one site there was a section at bottom to indicate how famous I thought the person was. I assumed that you had to get so many votes before the memorialized person was granted celebrityhood by the Find A Grave overseers. Brutal.

Hi B.J.

Would it be Ok if I attach the photo (with appropriate credit) you took of Del's marker to my tree on Ancestry?

RE: Lemuel Houser
I'm not sure, other than the name in stone, that the "Suzy/Rob" monument stone has anything to do with the subject's burial site.

"Olympic Athlete" is good. No problems. I haven't figured out the link thing either. Bob

RE: Lemuel Houser
I regret I didn't keep the draft I made--I usually delete drafts after I submit them to findagrave. However, I likely used edited wikipedia text as a primary source. I usually indicate where the info came from in the submission. I can rewrite in my own words if this will work. I am haven't found the Find A Grave guidelines yet. I had one submission that was a lot of work and it was rejected by Find A Grave as the custodian of the site.

RE: Benedictson
Thanks bunches, Bonnie.
The photo looks great.

I just edited the memorial putting "Rose" as the first name rather than as the nickname; perhaps that is best to prevent duplicates (See Memorial# 71284916). Then again, this may make it difficult for family searching her legal name, which was used on all documents I have viewed including death records.

I think Find A Grave would do well to add a "Name on Marker" Search feature. It's a common problem in both creating duplicates & finding those we seek on Find A Grave.
