You live in Walker County, so do my kids. My daughter is married to Terry Goins who mother is Betty and she is Mamie's sister. All the records I've found have her middle initial as an I. I was going to ask Betty when I call her to give her my condolences. I know Mamie and Betty were really close. I'm going to hold off on the edit until I get confirmation from the family, no offense but the administrators don't like it if you accept something and then change it. I appreciate your edit. Thank you, Roanna

RE: J B Garren
He's listed as in 3 cemeteries...

Manila memorial 56775693
New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery 26044500
Lafayette Cemetery 89715525

The headstone in New Hope Baptist looks like it may be just be a memorial stone as the body is in Manila?

Kenneth Ray Thomas Sr. Was My great grand father, Margaret Ann Thomas Wiggins ( she had a brother kenneth ray Jr, and several half brothers & Sisters) is my grandmother, her daughter is Evelyn Sue (Wiggins) Paich , and then there was me Amanda Lynn (Paich) Miller. if you need dates or anything like that(i can provide info for that) i do have a copy of margaret evelyn's death cert. if extra proof is needed.

I was very excited to see Ellen had a find a grave, i was wondering if i could be allowed to take it over in honor of my family. My grandmother Margaret wouldve loved this the reason being we didnt have much information on family till after about four years ago when i started finding info on my ancestors.

I have never gotten to see Grandma Ellen's Grave. this really made me happy when i stumbled on to this was found through ancestry. I just wanted to thankyou for finding her and getting her information posted. Really Means alot to me, Thankyou so much for your time, Always, Amanda Paich- Miller

RE: Good!
I just saw your message. I am glad you may not have the surgery. You MUST do as they say and let yourself heal. SOmetimes we just don'[e give ourselves a chance to completely heal and suffer later so do take care of yourself. You can be active later on.

I did not know the road had been paved I will try to venture there when I get a chance. I have always wanted to go back, but I will check out the hunting season because I was alone when I went before and felt very uneasy when hearing a few shots going off.

My parents were the McCarty's and they lived on what I think is Harrisburg road at present. The Route #'s were changed to road names after 9/11.

I would appreciate your son's pictures if they do get over there.
My daughter and granddaughter like to hike. Have they set up hiking trails on the mountain? I think they would enjoy hiking there even if there are no trails set up, I remember how pretty it was

Take care of yourself and thank you for your help.
my email is nicia4u@msn.com and I am curious to know if you are related to the Rape, McCarty, Cooper or Scoggin families.

Surgery??
Are you headed for surgery yet? I hope you to get the care you need.
Please keep in touch and let me know how it is going for you.

You must be in the Georgia area. I live in Trenton, Ga., myself.

I will check with the library.

Hi,

Don't you worry about getting pictures of the babies headstones. You take care of yourself, you are more important and I don't have to have proof of this. I do know that my father had two baby sisters born before him and Eva and Jewell I feel are the names. It was also thought his mother, Martha Isabelle McCarty, had a set of twins that she lost. I have nothing to prove that, but I did see the graves as I mentioned some 15 or so years ago. At that time, it was deer hunting season and the hunters were on the little mountain shooting deer. I do recall the road was dirt and had many areas that were washed away and I had a scary time between the ditches and the hunters. I did find the grave site though.

Can you tell me what the 'historical society records are that you mentioned?' Is that something I could use for my research? If so I would appreciate information about it.

Thanks again, and take care of yourself. I am 72+ and do understand.

Hi,
Thank you so much for all you have done to help everyone in finding their families. I don't know what I would have done without Find A Grave and people like you. I have been able to find so many of my relatives that my father said he didn't have. Not a nice guy, but you all are wonderful.

I do recall my mother telling me of my father having little sisters born before him and I just found them, thanks to you.

I am writing also to ask you to take a look at #132699895, Martha McCarty, my step-g-grandmother. Her BD cannot be 1882, her first child I find was born 1875, and I found her date to be Sep 5, 1852.

Also Jewell and Eva Jewell I believe to be the same child #132699962 and #132700129. I have a picture of this child, 'Evie,' that my mother was told she was dressed for burial and she is a tiny baby. Also, Venus is their child too. If you could add the proper parents names I will remove my note with the flowers. I don't know where the initials came from unless someone etched them on the Stones at the cemetery thinking it was right. These are my fathers sisters he never knew.

Is there any way you can verify this for me as to whether it is two children or indeed one. Also the parents are Thomas Floyd McCarty and Martha Isabelle Clark McCarty. Isabelle's grandfather was Archibald Rape as to why the babies were buried in the Rape Cemetery.

I have been to the grave about 15yrs ago and I know it is not easy to get up to it, but I thought you probably had some record or picture to refer back to. If you did take pictures of the tombstones I would appreciate it if you would send me one. I think of going back but I am 72+ and s little skeptical since I would have to go alone.

Thank you and my email is nicia4u@msn.com

Hi
Thank you for putting his parents back in. I understand the Find A Grave glitch thing. You contacted me the right way for now. I had to disable messages and remove my email because of a nasty stalker. She was threatening me and email bombing me. She would be shut down by Find A Grave and she would open a new account in an hour and start up again.
Thanks for everything.

RE: John B. Lumpkin
Carolyn Lumpkin Williams is the Great Granddaughter of John Bunion Lumpkin she lives in that area...and 706 260-7565. She and I have been working on the Lumpkin Family line for about 40 years. John Bunion's Father George Joshua Lumpkin was my Great Grandfather and John Bunion was known to me as "Uncle Bun". She also indicated that her grandfather Fred was nicknamed "Feddy" and that some of the family on her side knew him as such....If you can find the time to check with her...I think you may find that conversation about her line both interesting and helpful. Carolyn and I are Cousins in that John Bunion and my Grandfather George Henry Lumpkin were brothers. It was from my conversation with her that I was trying to help add some information to link the grave locations of the Lumpkin People to each other....so it will be easier going forward for anyone searching the Lumpkin line that it has been for me these many years. I am so thankful for your work in doing what you have done on find a grave too....and I appreciate it very much. Best regards, Dan
