On FindaGrave #52899261, Woodmere Cemetery, Detroit, Mary A. F. McDougal[l], I think the entry for Dorothy Emma Howell should be Emma Della Howell, b. 4 June 1919. Her birth certificate is online, b. St. Bernard's Hospital, Chicago, Cook, IL, #17886, daughter of Edwin Howell & Della Murray. She must have just assumed the name Dorothy because that is how she appears on the 1930 census, Alhambra, CA, aged 10, & 1940, Chicago, aged 19.

Muriel Hamilton
Thanks for the edits submitted for Muriel Matzen Hamilton.
I had tried to find information on her side of the family after I created the memorial, but ran into a dead end pretty fast.
Your help is much appreciated.

RE: bagg / baggs

Thank you for your input. Since you have a connection to the family would you mind if I referred you name and email over to two of the members on the Washington Cemetery board. I will see if I can find some information that the cemetery board is doing to put markers on grave without markers; especially graves located in Strangers Rest. Many of the graves just have a number. I have taken photos of all the numbered markers and one of the board members is helping me match the number to a name.

Take care,
Bob Hague

Bagg / Baggs Family
Are you related to Lucian E. Bagg / Baggs buried in the Washington Cemetery located in Houston, Harris Co., Texas? Most online sources show the surname as Bagg. His parents last name is shown a Bagg. His wife's grave marker spells the surname as Bagg. The only reference of the spelling as Baggs is on the grave marker of his son, Lucian Layman Baggs that you sent me the correction. I was able to locate the memorial of Lucian's wife buried in Colorado and another of his son's buried in the same cemetery.

Thank you for your valuable input and all that you do for Find A Grave.

Transfer of Ruth's memorial made.
And thanks for the information about Henry Sr.'s middle name. Did you see his passport on Ancestry or some other website, or was it through a more personal connection?

Ruth Grady Deimel
Thanks for the links to Ruth, as I know very little about her. Do you want her memorial? Deimels are in my family so I would probably want to keep Henry's unless you are more closely related and want his.

BTW, do you know for a fact that Henry's father's middle name was "Lito"? I thought that might be unique to the son--possibly related to his mother's name of Carmelita, which some records abbreviate as "Leta" or "Lita".
(Also, do you happen to know where the remains of Henry (the father) are? Someone in the family thought that his ashes are scattered.

Inaccurate photo
Hello, Marshall.

I think the photo of the man in uniform which you added to the memorial #67426073 (my 2nd-great-grandfather Marcus Markham) is actually a photo of Marcus Augustine Markham (reference memorial #44097619). To my knowledge, my 2nd-Great-Grandfather neither had a middle initial (as shown on the writing at the bottom of the uncropped photo at Memorial # 440976619), nor was he ever in the military service. Unfortunately, I am not aware of an existing photo of my 2nd-great-grandfather.

Best regards,

Dale L. Markham

Find A Grave messages seems to be having a problem today! I posted the obit you sent to me for Judith Williams but in accordance with Find A Grave rules, I deleted the names of living people. I do not agree with this rule but must follow it.

Christine Schultz
Hi Marshall,

Well, your wife and I are surely Cousins at some level, as would be John's children. If you can email me your wife's connection to the Schultz's, I can figure it out.

I hope it's helpful to know where John's resting place is. FG is such a simple but powerful community, never know who will happen upon an answer!

And you're right, it was John using TenBroeck for the last name that was throwing me. I've dealt with some pretty puzzling families but this was clearly one I couldn't confirm with available records, so thank you for clearing things up.

For his wife, I have Angela Dawn McKenzie. And I had the three children. I have no dates/Place of birth/death/marriage for Angela or Jane Austin Howard, so if you can shed some light on that, would appreciate it!

If you need any info on Schultz's just ask.

Hi! I'm looking for info on the first cousins of Miles Hoeye on the French side, Edgar "Owen" McCann Jr. and Mary M McCann Simmons. They are the children of Edith French and Edgar Owen McCann Sr. I'm hopeful you might be able to help or direct me to someone who could. I am especially interested in ANY info I can get on E.O. Jr. and his wife Tracy.

I have copied your text from this message and pasted it onto her memorial as your contribution, as it is far easier to read than the photocopy. Perhaps you can remove the photocopy from the set of photos. Many thanks,

Victora Cadaract
My wife is a direct descendent of Victoria Cadaract. I am looking for any information on Victoria's mother. The mother was reported to have married a member of the Navarre family. If you have any information I would be greatly appreciate the help. Have a nice day.

Herman Mynderse Ten Broeck #101921916
Racecourse Road Cemetery -Tientsin

Hello, Marshall! First off, there is a good chance your wife and I are Cousins, so a quick wave hello from a Rhinebeck Schultz descendent. Second, if I could make a suggestion, unless the burial remains for Herman were exhumed and re-interred in the RB Assoc Cem, then what you have with the marker is a centotaph. His actual burial place, per the military record of death is in the Race Course Cemetery in China which does exist on Find A Grace so the cemetery could be changed to accurately reflect that with the plot Grave No. 326. That way, both the true location and the family's wish to honor him could be accommodated. Or, if you are aware that his body was brought home to rest at some point, I think adding that to the Bio would be of interest to anyone visiting his memorial. Regards, Chris Schultz

I'm just wondering what your relationship is to this couple and whether you're certain that they're the right ones. I only ask because I've had corrections suggested before that contradicted information on the stone. Will post photo of headstone. Unfortunately, it is broken, as you will see.
