Thank you
Dear Robert,
Hope that this finds you and yours doing well. Sorry that it has taken me so long to get this to you. By the time I get off work the library is closed. I can't wait to get internet at our house. Thank you so very much for the visits to my loved ones. That means so much to me. I bet Daddy enjoyed the football games up in Heaven. Now I share that joy with my son.
Take care and God bless always.

Westlawn-Hillcrest Vets
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge #326.

If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.

Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.

If you have already received this message, please accept our apologies for the duplicate message.

RE: Annie Mae Grigsby Pepper
Hi Robert, You walked the same path I have already been down. I talked to a relative a couple of years ago and she told me that there was not a lot of stone for headstones in early Rusk County. Wooden markers were the norm, or no marker at all. Everyone just knew where the family members were.

As cemetery indexes were lost, and family died out or moved away, the unmarked places in the cemeteries were lost to time. We may never know where they are. Thanks for checking though, I appreciate it.

RE: Annie Mae Grigsby Pepper
Hi Robert, Thanks for making the update. I am trying to track the Grigsbys of Rusk County down and get them all connected. Unfortunately, Annie's parents are proving to be difficult to find.

Missing*U*Always ~ Loving*U*Forever
_______THE CANDY CANE_________

A significant symbol of Christmas
Is the simple candy cane
Its shape is the crook of the shepherd
One of the first who came

The lively peppermint flavor is
The regal gift of spice
The white is Jesus' purity
The red is sacrifice

The narrow stripes are friendship
And the nearness of his love
Eternal sweet compassion
A gift from God above

The candy cane reminds us all
Of how much God cared
And like His Christmas gift to use
It's meant to be broken and shared

Carson Hill Cemetery
There is a volunteer who has made hundreds of duplicate memorials in Carson Hill Cemetery. Some of them are of yours. I have asked her (Ollie Ford) to remove about 30 of mine.

David Shelton
Yes, you do, you always have the right words. And oh yes, David would have loved nothing better than to sit and talk and share a pot of coffee with you. He had some stories to tell and you would have enjoyed them! Quite a diversified life he led and I think I can say he died in perfect peace with the world, just didn't get all the loose ends tied up that he tried so hard to accomplish and we didn't have near enough time together. You never do when you are happy and enjoy each other's company like we did. Thank you again for your tribute to him and to us. It means the world to me. You are a friend for life. Elaine
