RE: Glory Road

Thank you so very much Robert. I know I can always count on you....you're so reliable, and knowledgeable (sp?). Your message was absolutely perfect.

Since I'll be going to my daughter's house for the upcoming holiday [and then some] I hope you and your family have a very safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

Blessings always,

Patty :)

Robert, could you.....

....please place a Silver Star Medal back on Sgt. Jesus Duran's site, again. It is very helpful [to me, anyway] when you put the name of the Medal with it, so I know which one it is. [like you did today with Sgt. Manno]
Also, when you get a chance, could you please
leave the link for Sgt. Duran, back on my messages, so others can click on to it. Thank you.
Also....this is very sad news that he was a homicide victim [like other veterans...]
My computer is starting to freeze up, so it's time to go until later.
Thank you, and have a great day, and a happy weekend.
Blessings,
Patty :)

RE: Work your magic

Robert, I have taken care of your request on visiting SP4 Duran, and it was my honor and pleasure to do so. Could you please tell me what the MOH looks like? Is it the light blue ribbon medal? And what exactly does the Silver Star medal look like? And can this Hero get a Purple Heart medal? Thanks for your help.

Have a great evening.

Sincerely,

Patty

Mary Almedia Reynolds Ratcliff
Thanks for adding my bio information to her memorial. Although she was my grandmother's first cousin, we all had large families in those days and I guess it was almost impossible to keep up personally with all the cousins when sending letters through the US Mail was about the only option. I appreciate the transfer offer, however, you are doing a great job and I see very little likelyhood that I would come up with any more information on her. So far, I have been unable to locate the graves of either of her husbands.
Best regards,
William Gorman

Traci's Mom
Token you left for Traci Fields
Robert, thank you very much for the token you left for my angel daughter Traci. She was a wonderful gift from GOD, and she's in my heart and mind every single day. Her passing has left major holes in the hearts of her family and friends.

I appreciate you helping to reach my goal of 5,000 tokens by her birthday, November 20th.

I'm thankful and blessed for your kindness. GOD bless you for your heavenly heart.

I am so overwhelmed with all the findagrave friends requesting flowers/tokens for my Traci. Thank you ever so much!

Sharon (Traci's mom)

UPDATE: I just check Traci's memorial and she has a total of 5,134 flowers. You have helped go well beyond my goal.

GOD bless you.

Thank you so much for correcting the memorial for Ina. You and I must be related by marriage... I am a Maywald descendant and am working on a book on the Maywald Family of Texas & Descendants. Since you have the last name Fowler (by the way that was my father's middle name and the name he went by), you must be related to the Fowler side. Nice to "meet" you and thank you for the update. Please email me... my email is listed on my Find A Grave page.

I agree that animals bring joy to our days! They are often better than people... Where in the USA are you from Robert? I live in Sydney.

Hi Robert

Thank you for your kind words. You found my dad. He was a true warrior.

It pleases me that you want to include him in your weekly ritual. Please feel free to do so.

Is there a memorial for your father?

Take care.

RE: Richard Brown Sponsorship
You are very welcome. I cannot take credit for the photos. Dawn Iannone is the person responsible for them.

I know about the delays in awarding medals. My father was KIA in Korea and was nominated for the CMH. It was a volunteer mission, but someone up the line decided the mission was not important enough; therefore, he was awarded a gold star in lieu of a second Navy Cross. I still have the letter sent to my mother. It was presented to my 10 month old brother who was born after Dad was killed.

Robert, I do apologize for leaving out important information. I was trying to compact things too much. I'm afraid I do not know a Lawson Fowler, but as you say, too much coincidence there not to be some connection. Here is my line:
Barbara Fowler (Smith) -- me
Marvin Franklin Fowler -- my father
Stephen Franklin Fowler -- my grandfather
John Frank Fowler -- my great grandfather
John William Fowler -- my great great grandfather and Susan Hayes, great great grandfather.

--William B. Fowler--possibly my great great great grandfather. Still gathering proof. I have one census with Wm B and John Wm plus other family members in the right place, right time, right ages. Also have ml for Wm B. and wife Elizabeth Haney as well as a census for a James R. Fowler with his mother as a dependent (listed as "Haney" Fowler, the family name for her)

Family of John William. Benjamin Franklin Fowler is known to be a full brother of John William. James Fowler and Martin H. Fowler are believed to be half brothers. Susannah, John and Martha are either siblings or half siblings. Benoni is either a half brother or very young brother to William B. Several married into the Hayes family

I am collecting reputable family trees to compare against what I have already and do save researched lines even if they do not tie in immdiately.

I do apologize for bothering you with this but hoped you might lend me fresh perspective. Thank you for your time.

Connection to family
Hi--My name is Barbara Fowler Smith and I believe we are descended from the same Fowler--William B. Fowler. I believe your ancestor was his son Martin and mine was his brother John William Fowler. I would like to find gravesites for William B Fowler and wife Hainey Fowler and if possible for John William Fowler. I hope you might have some notes or insight about the Fowler history. Please contact me at your convenience. Thank you.

Please email me at shellyfurtah@gmail.com. My dad recently passed away (9/30/2014) but I believe you may have been in Vietnam with him on 5/2/1967. Understandably so my dad never spoke much of his experience there. However, now my son and I yearn to learn anything we can about him. Thank you!

RE: Thomas Nathaniel Townsend
I was in hopes that you would be a direct descendent and be very interested. I stopped by an antique shop in a nearby town. While there I saw a very old, large, unframed photograph propped up on the mantle of a fireplace that was for sale. The couple in the photo were old. I picked it up, turned it over and saw that someone had written their names, birth and death dates on the back. It was Thomas Nathaniel Townsend and Emmeline Church Townsend. It did not have a price on it, but I took pictures of front and back. Then I came home and found them on ancestry. I saw you had put them on find-a-grave and had a photo of them with their children in your tree. This is not the same photo. If you know anyone that might want to get that photo, feel free to pass on my information so I can put them in touch with that shop. Thanks for your reply
