Since 2006 I have been unraveling the story of the John Wesley Hooker family from the Buffalo Ridge section of Patrick County, Virginia. He and his wife Margaret Akers raised 13 children. The quest has taken me to many libraries, court houses and grave yards. The distant relatives, that I have met along the way are the true treasures of the adventure. Along with the facts, I have collected and identified many old pictures, often put away in forgotten boxes. I have tried to share these pictures with their loved ones. In 2015 my research is mainly on the Nolen, Agee and Akers families.

Also researching my husband's family- the Frye and Boaz familes from Henry county, VA; and the Ramsey, Gardner, Meshack Turner, Jamison, Pinkard families from Henry and Franklin Counties Virginia.

And researching my mother's family - the Manson, Blackwell, Bridgforth and Seay families in Lunenburg Co., Va and the Cunningham , Pollard and Allen families in Prince Edward Co, Va.
