Jefferson Davis Wheeler
Hi Folks -- I have posted a picture that I took of the little grave marker which was left for Jefferson Wheeler at Riverside Memorial Park in Spokane, Washington. I am thinking this might be your family member as listed on Ancestry. Let me know if that is so at cookie_9@q.com.

John Tyler Russell 1841-1916
I have a copy of the death notice for John Tyler Russell in Vicksburg, MS on Nov. 5, 1917. I have chased this information for more than a year - only to discover that he died at my grandfather's house (his son).
John, I can send you a copy of the newspaper write-up if you send me your e-mail address. You may want to correct the Find A Grave for James Carson Russell to reflect this date for John Tyler and add to James Carson's children:
Martha A. (1843- ), William J. (1845- ),Matthew Cicero (1847-1916), Susan E. (1849- ), and Robert A (1851- )

Wheelers & Coles TN>TX
I don't know if I've asked you before, but have you found anything that would reveal a reason for the Wheelers, Coles and several George family members moving from Lincoln Co., Tn to northern Tx? It certainly wasn't a change in attitude about slavery since Eli Cole's will (Grayson Co., Tx.) shows that he left slaves to family members.

Hi. Do you know who Sarah Pierce was married to? I am wondering if this is the Sarah Ann that was married to Clinton Lee Pierce?

John or Linda:

About a week ago I sent an Edit to you for Find a Grave # 6169563, adding a link to his father. You should find that in your "Edits" tab at your Find A Grave Contributor homepage. If you do not, please let me know and I will resend. Could I get you to process this Edit? Or, if you prefer, you make send the memorial to me (see Find a Grave Contributor # below) and I will Edit it. I have quite a bit of biographical info on # 6169563, as well. I am a DNA relative of his.

Kind regards,

John Powell

RE: David Welcom Martin
If you will email me using this address: fredan186@aol.com I will send you a copy of the letter claiming that David Welcome Martin was the son of James Martin. I feel that your info on David is probably correct but the person that wrote the letter thinks differently. I will also explain my Martin ancestry.

I will have to check about the large family marker. I was concentrating on the individual markers.

anna M. Martin #95827504
Thank you for the transfer. I think that this lady is Anna Margaret Zingg Martin. Her husband is Oldis Rudell Martin. Oldis is also buried in the same cemetery. If this is Anna Margaret Zingg, her parents were Immigrants from Switzerland, Pieter Zingg and Ursula Sulser Zingg. The Zinggs connect into one of my families line.

Dana Thompson
Septimus F. R. Thompson
Thank you so much for finding this obscure piece of information on the Thompson family. My great grandfather was one of those minor children. I have extensively researched all 9 of Septimus' children with his first wife--Letitia Elizabeth Taylor Thompson. (Does anyone have any information about her date of death or burial place?) Here are some quick details about their children; anyone can contact me if they want more information.
Samuel D. (1847-? burial place unknown, possibly Arkansas or Kentucky), Willis Abbey (1849-1859 TX), Albert Henry (1851-1937), Benjamin Taylor (1853-1921), Elijah Tinder (1855-1937), Sarah Alice (1857-1942), George M. (1865-1926), Charles L. (1868-1950 CA), John S. (March 1871 - October 1951). For the Wheeler family, here is another curiosity that you might want to look into: Charles L. Thompson married Minnie Rickey in Texas in 1896; they moved to Oklahoma and had several children; Minnie and their children all died in Autumn 1901. In December 1905, Charles married May Wheeler, both of Sulphur, OK. They had several children. Later they moved to Oakland, CA where they were divorced. May remarried to Earl Mallory, but Charles remained single until his death.

David Howard
Robert Allen DeLaRosa
Concerning my son's name being included on your site. His legal name is Robert Allen DeLaRosa. You identify him as Robert Allen DeLaRosa-Savory. Savory is Robert's stepfather's last name, not Robert's. As Robert's closest living biological relative I request that changes be be made to properly identify my son by his legal name only. Mr Savory is of questionable character, especially concerning his behavior around children and it causes a certain amount of distress to see his name associated with my family. Thank you.

Rufus Wheeler letter
The Rufus Wheeler letter has fascinated me from the moment I saw it. I'm amazed at how he names names, children, siblings, etc. I just stumbled onto something this morning. This letter mentions a sister of Rufus' grandfather (John Wheeler) who was a member of the first colony in Georgia. A couple of words have been unreadable to me until now. I now think Rufus wrote "Oglethorpe Colony." James Oglethorpe was the leader of the first colony of Georgia in 1733 which "sailed from Gravesend on the River Thames." I know the dates may not correspond, but Rufus is saying she became a part of that colony.
