RE: Abigail Moore
It was Abigail Moore # 43883574 that I had requested a photo of her headstone. Maybe when you added the poem it went as a photo request. ?

Hi Beverly, I received an email from Find A Grave that you had fulfilled my photo request for Abigail Moore. All I saw was a poem. Does she not have a marker?

You did have the correct email address, but for some reason Yahoo would not let me reply to your email. I would be glad to have anything you would like to send. Kathy

Gertrude Kirlin
Hello Beverly, Archie and Gertrude Kirlin are the great greatgrandparents of my grandchildren. Marguerite Yuvon Stoll (deceased)was their "other" grandmother, J.B. and Leila Yuvon Kirlin Stoll their great grandparents. I have started trying to research their dad's side of the family for them. They are young (20 and 16) and have no interest in it now, but in the future I hope they will want to know about their ancestors. Anything you would have to share I would greatly appreciate. You can email me at Kathy

You're welcome, Bev. For some reason that name "Purdy" sticks with me and if I see it, I photograph it. There's another one in Maple Leaf Cemetery in Chatham, ON but I couldn't find it when I was out there. Maybe there's no stone. Will have to check that some time.

Hi Bev, you will have to be more specific about what photos you want of the Chatham area. I live here, not visiting. There are some pretty spots, as we are surrounded by a lot of water. This time of year though, it's not so nice.

RE: Purdy family
Hi Beverly,

I was out to Evergreen Cemetery in Blenheim, Ontario this morning (a bit cold here for that but I went). I found a Bruce & Mavis Purdy and added him to this cemetery. # 123351037.
I thought that you'd like to know. Haven't found the other one that you want yet.. genealogy room isn't open on Mondays and it was too cold to walk for too long out there.

Janet in Chatham.

The photo is not mine, but if you make a photo request and ask with a specfic that you would like to see details then the photographer may have them in "stock"

Requires one request for each memorial you would like to see a photo (photographer's requirement)

I'm not sure what the cemeteries condition is currently, but it was under snow as of this last week. Weather has warmed, but it is suppose to get bad again.

You need to contact the person who maintains the memorial. I have Hayes in my family tree, but not Marcellous or a Clarence.

Re: Purdy
Hi Beverly,

I know that there are 2 more Purdy family members in sections M and S of Maple Leaf Cemetery, but I could not find them. I will check with the cemetery office to confirm their exact location. They are re-paving the lot at the office and there's no parking for a few days. As for the ones in British Columbia - can't help you there, as BC is almost 3000 miles from my home. The ones in London are a problem too as that city is too far out of my area. London has a population of around 600,000 people and has many cemeteries. It would cost me alot for gas, parking fees, and it is too cold this time of year to walk through a large cemetery. I suggest that you write to the London branch of the OGS and ask for their assistance.

No, I am not related, but I only live 2 miles from the cemetery and I like to get the job done as soon as possible.

RE: Phebie Ann Moore,Grimes
We previously transferred her memorial and no longer maintain it; if you select the edit tab on her memorial, you can correspond with the individual who has it now. Mrs. Grimes' free online file can be seen at under Military Records for Retsil.

This gravestone is in the United Church Cemetery, Malagash, not the United Church Cemetery, Fox Harbour. Two different cemetery, with a bay of water in between them.

Henry Purdy parents are Colonel Gilbert Purdy, son of Samuel and Winifred (Griffin) Purdy; and Bethia Fisher, daughter of Jeremiah and Eliza (Miller) Fisher. Eva Noyes
When I found Eva I also found several family members buried next to her.
You will see, then, that I have also posted pictures on the Memorial Pages of her husband, Frank, and Abbie, Selma, Edwin, and Russell.
I also found her son, Francis "Bud", and daughter-in-law, Ida Mae.
I, of course, hope that you enjoy all of the pictures.
Thanks for the request.

No. I just like to hang out at Santa Ana Cemetery. I couldn't find her and they didn't have her on their list, so I started using all the resources I had to find her. I hope you enjoy the picture.

Is Don Purdy part of this same family? He was about 90 I think and died earlier this year if I remember correctly. He worked for many years in a local funeral home and was active in the community, especially the Rotary Club where he was highly regarded and much loved. I am wondering if some of the family is in St. Joseph's Cemetery which is just across the street from Memorial Park.

I am hoping to get some of the requested photos in the next few days. I have new software so it may take a few days for this old guy to learn the newfangled stuff it offers. Also, it is very hot here and not a good time to search but the weatherman says we have a slight cool-down coming so I will try. I am not related to the Purdy family.

RE: John Moore
I am referring to John Moore born 1622 and was married to Margaret Howell but I have let some of my records get mixed up that far back. My family names since the 1800 are: Lanier, Platt, Turner, McClelland, Hedick, Dick, Saunders, & Green. Any of those names ring a bell with you. By the way, I live in Georgia but an a 6th generation Floridian.

Enjoyed your beautiful poem! I am the 9th great granddaughter of John Moore. Are you also related to him, Beverly? I love this ancestry business! Sometimes I feel as if I really know my past people! I live in Georgia. pola
