George Purdy Photo Request
Beverly,
I would like to honour your request for a photo of George Purdy's grave marker at Windsor Grove Cemetery if you could contact the office and get the grave location. I am no longer able to get info on people that were not related to me.
The office has the records for both Windsor Memorial Gardens & Windsor Grove Cemetery. They can be reached at 519-969-4146 or "info@windsormemorial.com"

RE: HARDIN FAMILY
Beverly,

I am sorry I haven't answer before now but I don't live in California so I can't check the records or cemetery for you. My aunt is buried there and I got the information from her and that is all I know. Most of my Hardins for from around Arkansas and Oklahoma.

RE: FRED RAPER
Do you have a cemetery name? Is it Lemoore?
I found his exact death date so I can go to the
library tomorrow to see the obit. Maybe that will
answer the question as to where he is buried.

Please email me.

RE: HARDIN FAMILY
I am sorry but I don't live in Calif. so I can't check on your graves sites. I am also not sure how we are connected, because I don't have any Edwin Hardins in my family. We are from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tenn, Tex, etc. the Hardin that is buried in Kings county California is an aunt that moved to Calif in the 1940's during the war I think. Sorry I be of any more help.

RE: HENRY JOHNSON
You are welcome. As you will notice there are no dates listed on his memorial. If you want to make a new one I will post the photo again.

There are several other Johnson's with Henry and I plan to make new memorials for them with dates and ask the person who posted without dates to remove. She posted hundreds of names, but no dates.

RE: Ingeborg Kntsdatter & Stephen Stffenson
Hi Beverly,

Thanks for your email.

I was just about to email you. I am a 2nd great granddaughter of Stephen and Ingeborg Steffenson (sen). I have a family tree on Ancestry.com (FivePinons or "Vaughn Family Tree").

I have just started research on the Steffens family myself. Family stories say that Steffen Steffens Bergstad and Ingeborg (Knutsdatter Tjugen) immigrated from Norway to Minnesota. Steffen (Stephen) died first in Minnesota and their children took Ingeborg in until she died. I don't know why they are buried in separate cemeteries, but I do know Ingeborg died in Iowa and was buried in the same cemetery as one of her sons (Ben Stevenson, my great grandfather).

Please erase the duplicate entry for both. Also, as much as I like your "Dear Ancestor" insert, please delete them from my family pages. These particular ancestors were not sentimental in the least.

I am still in the process of filling in info on the children of Ingeborg and Steffen and am still trying to find their graves. They are scattered throughout Minnesota and Iowa. The children are, Ben Stevenson, Syvert Steffenson, Melinda Steffenson (she is the one who married Louis Johnson and had Lottie Johnson that is mentioned in one of the memorials), Knut Steffen Bergstad, John Edward Steffens, Christ Steffens, and Marius Steffens.

How are you related to the Steffensons?

Sincerely,
Joanne Vaughn Baty

Hi Bev,
thank you for the message. No I am not a relative just a volunteer who adopted Modesto Pioneer Cemetery and then photographed it. I appreciate your kind words and believe as you do: Preserving the memories of the folks who have gone before us is so incredibly important.
Warm regards,
Larry Tally

Nancy E Taylor Mistake
Hi there,

I think I must have just made a mistake... or possibly accepted a mistake without doing enough verification. When I went into my tree I could see that you are right. Nancy's maiden name was Purdy. I have connected her to her father.

Thanks for the "heads up."

John
