Bio

I have only recently discovered how fascinating family histories can be, and I've taken it upon myself to become the historian for my family.

Ironically, I've never been good at history, as I've never fully understood time. I can't fathom the concept of "200 years ago" having only lived 39 years myself. (And I was much worse about it in school when I hadn't even been alive for two decades!)

Tracing my family members' lives through the past helps me understand the passage of time, and history itself, better.

I turned to Find a Grave after coming up with dead ends at Ancestry.com and I'm very excited to have found it. With all my ancestors' graves hundreds of miles away, I feel like I can finally pay my respects to them here, by creating memorials and requesting photos of their sites.

And in turn, I am happy to pay back this community by taking photos near my home on the border of North and South Carolina, just south of Charlotte.

The first memorial I created here, and the one that holds my heart the most, is that of my sister. We lost her to leukemia when she was just twelve years old.

Page is my inspiration. I have cycled several thousand miles, including two Century rides in Lake Tahoe, to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Page's memory. I encourage you to visit her memorial if you have a moment:
