I have been photographing Newman Cemetery, and finding unknowns on some of your memorials. I'm glad that you are doing them, but usually I get an email that the corrections have been done. Just wondering and Thank You for your hard work and interest. I'm sure you get a good feeling as I do when I can connect a lost relative to somebody out there looking for them. Joe

|Barbara B||RE: Bazel Thomas # 79872974|
Thanks for looking into this. I have many family members in the country, so I know what you mean about tombstones that are thin or soft and possibly unattended.
I'll send you the additions in a few days. (I'm a teacher & this is the last week of school) *whew*

Bazel was married to Laura Short, do you have access to tombstone inscriptions? Might she be listed on the same tombstone? It looks like some children are in the same cemetery and none of the ones I've checked have been linked.
I'll be happy to help link the family members but have no way to check any inscriptions. Sad if she's left unmarked.
I'm working on this line right now, but it looks like Bazel was a widower by 1910 (before his death), so she should be around somewhere! I'm double checking the information I can find.
Thank you for any help!

The correct spelling for the maiden name of Catherine (Deegan) Reynolds is DEEGAN. She is the youngest daughter of William and Susan Deegan - she's my Great Grand Aunt. Thanks so much, Alan Deegan

|Mary Lou Collins||Florence E. McKinney Hall|
11 May 2015 Hi, Tori. Thanks for all of your great effort regarding my family. I just wanted to mention that Florence Mckinney Hall is the daughter of Minerva A. Coykendall McKinney and John Wright McKinney; not Mary Roll. My great-grandfather married Minerva in 1870. Florence was born in 1874. All of the other children listed are correct.
Appreciate very much what you have done. It's been a great help. Thanks again. Mary Lou...

I am brand new at this (two months since starting my genealogy journey) and have had memorials transferred to me, I guess because I've provided a bunch of info that some don't want or can't deal with and I have no idea how to update or link them. I've tried to edit some and have found that for siblings I can only put the info in the bio even though there are grave #'s that I've found and included. It would seem that it could be made easier to add siblings like it is to add the parents or spouses. Thank you for any help or info you can provide.

|Carol||RE: Weaden S Hume|
Yes, I know a fair bit about Weadon Sleet Hume, a distant relative by marriage. He was born May 18, 1820 in Boone County, Kentucky and died in Edgar County, IL in 1874. His first wife was Ann E. Stevenson (1840-1865). In 1867 he married Martha D. "Mattie`` Conners; their daughter Sarah `Sallie` Hume died in childhood (1869-1877) and is buried in Edgar Cemetery as well.
Weadon Sleet Hume was a cousin of Elzaphan Weadon Sleet Hume (founder of the town of Hume, IL), who married the widowed Martha Conners Hume in 1875 after Weadon Sleet Hume`s death.
Very confusing, I know. Here is an interesting link about Sallie Hume`s memorial:
Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

|Brenda Wasilewski||Gaffney and Wylie|
Well, if you come across anything on John Gaffney (1849-1919) I am most interested in his mystery parents/siblings. He's well documented after his marriage to Eliza in 1875 in Garrard County Kentucky, where all the Gaffneys came from. All 3 of Eliza's sisters married a Gaffney brother (so weird!), but I don't believe John was a brother, probably a cousin, but cannot determine his parents. Nobody on Ancestry appears to be researching the Villa Grove Gaffneys at all, either. But any Gaffney or Wylie you come across is likely to be an ancestor of mine from KY. Multiple families moved here in 1904. Hope that helps!
