Helliwell's of Highland Creek
Greetings: Have been in touch with a descendent of the Helliwells from Highland Creek. Although, he no longer lives in Highland Creek, he keeps abreast of happenings in the Creek. He is on Facebook. He has many interesting articles on his families past. He lives in Nova Scotia now, with his Acadian wife.

I created memorials for relatives Hattie Hill JACKSON and her husband L. Fred JACKSON before I realized you had already done them. I sent a message via private e-mail.

A record for CHOWNS was added Nov. 23, 2014. Memorial #139141572. May I ask who requested this? This marker belongs to my great grandparents. Thank you.

Helliwell's of Highland Creek

I joined a facebook page called The Creekers...Highland Creek people. One of the chaps is a decendent of the Original Helliwells, even named William or Bill.

I was tracing them on findagrave, and from the family trees online, found a few minor changes for your enteries.

Do you know if OGS has a booklet for the people buried at St. Margaret in the Pines?...

Evelyn Jepson.

Re: 66091044

Somehow, this doesn't make any sense to me. You have another person mentioned and the grave of Howard Garfield Ella shown...Howard died in 1996 according to the gravestone.....his wife Doreen Fewster Ella died last year January 26, 2013 at 92 years old.
Can you help me understand this?

Thanks Shannon for your research. I've requested that the cemetery raise the flat headstone. I'll let you know when they have done so.

I grew up in Willowdale during the 60's and was always fascinated by the Cummer Burial ground. I remember as a young boy passing by on the sidewalk(afraid to go in) and seeing the large headstone in the middle. It appeared to be a plaque surrounded by cemented rocks. I could see, if I strained, a date in the 1700's on the stone, but nothing else. I looked through the listings but didn't see it attached to any name, however, I see it in the "cemetery photos" section. Can you tell me who it was?

RE: Thomas and Lottie Black
Sorry, my mistake, Thomas' parents are buried in Prospect Cemetery - not the same cemetery as Thomas and Lottie.

Thomas and Lottie Black
Thanks so much for the taking the time to post the pictures of their memorials. I really appreciate it. I will contact the cemetery to find out why they do not have Thomas' parents listed. I have the original cemetery records showing their burial locations and my Great Grandfather paid for them.

Thanks again,

Roy Woodruff

Oops, just got your correction. At least I have the pic of the section where she is buried, no worries. I have come across that too with other relatives. Thanks for trying.

Thank you so much for taking the time to find the marker for her. I can't be there in person but at least I have a picture of her resting place now.

Well that's interesting that they have no record of him. Found his death certificate which is where I got the Information from. Will have to look more into it.

RE: Bowler - Mount Pleasant!
Weird, I noticed the picture looked like he was on the right side of the wall, but I remember him on the left corner. Maybe he was moved? Thanks again.

RE: Millers
Hey, since you're going anyway - I'm maxed out (as usual) on photo requests right now but Sue just e-mailed with me a couple more plots if you're in the area.

William John Gaynor, Section P, Lot 8616

Lavina Gaynor, Section 8-4379 - probably nothing there like her son Gordon but just in case ...

Very warm here too but we are getting dumped on by rain at the moment. Hope it doesn't catch you out there.

Thanks again for both photo and creation/transfer of Nancy! I love it when a stone yields previously unknown information. I had been looking for her with no luck, till now. :)
