Thank you so much for the transfer of these memorials to me to manage. I will take good care of them.

This family group is related to me through the "Watkins" family, and I guess, I feel "close" to them.

While I am aware of Find A Grave's transfer guidelines of only transferring to spouses, parents, brothers and sisters, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, grandparents, and great-grandparents, I guess I disagree with it. I think those people should come first to transfer to, but, I think, if they are not available/aware of the memorials, they should be transferred to other "relatives" who are aware. I think it is very important that memorials be managed by interested "family" members.

I also think it is important to transfer memorials to "interested" family members, because if someone has a question or wants more information on a memorial or family, it is more likely that a family member will know about the family, than someone who kindly just posts the memorial.

Specifically, in the Walker family case, I know how they are all related and I was the one who provided, in most cases, the family links and exact place and date of birth and death, if known. By only making the changes, and not acknowledging who linked them (and the only way I can think of doing that is by transferring the memorials), no one will know to contact me for questions on additional info on the family.

If you read my bio, you will see that I have been doing genealogy for years and have known the Walker family place of death for years (as thousands of others). I am merely a "late adopted" of technology and a contributor to Find A Grave.

I want to thank you for posting on Find A Grave. Most all my grave pictures were taken pre-digitization.

I have numerous obits, land records, etc., on my Ontario and Detroit area families. I have pretty much decided I will only post obits and additional bio info to memorials I manage, so that I can make changes, etc. to them.

Are you located in Ontario, and if so where, if I may ask? I am trying to enter as many of my Ontario people as I can, but that is quite a task. I have had to travel to various genealogy libraries throughout the years to look at the Ontario cemetery transcriptions to find people. I have purchased several, just takes a lot of time to enter everyone.

If I can help you let me know. I own the complete cemetery transcription collection of Norfolk and Middlesex Counties; Hamilton Cemetery in Wentworth County and Greenwood Cemetery and St. George's Anglican in Halton County. My concern is entering "my people" and getting them linked and straightening up other peoples entries that effect "my family." If I have "significant" bio info to add, or feel the memorials are "closely" related to me, then I ask for a transfer. Please don't ask me to enter all of the memorials in those cemeteries on Find A Grave. I really won't live that long!!!!

Again, thanks for the transfers and for posting on Find A Grave.

Headstone photo's
Hi,
My name is Shelley Boring and I am also on Ancestry.com. I would like to know if I may use your headstone photo's of my distant cousins in my burial info. I do credit the site and the source. If not I understand.
Thank you for adding my cousins, I am in Michigan, and would never have found them in Canada if it was not for this site.
Sincerely,
Shelley Boring

Greetings: Maybe the stone was dirty, but her name was Florence Carter Knapp..maybe you would revise that.
Ancestry.com has her down as being born in England, but no parent records mentioned. Just so the record reads right.

Thankyou.

Thank you so much for adding the additional information and links I sent you. Thank you also for adding these memorials! Carrie Williamson was the last memorial I needed for the 13 children in her family! I was so excited when I found that the memorials for her and her family had just been added late in 2014. They were truly the missing links!

Greetings: I would like to eventually get all the sections and plot maps from Parklawn staff, without them developing questions as to why....

Its great to get pictures of gravestones, it would be great to at least have sections where the stones are.

But, at least if i have a name and death date I can get my contact to give me the information.

Knox Cemetery-Auld Kirk
Greetings: Do you know if the cemetery on Rutherford Rd, just west of Hwy 27 is mentioned on findagrave? I can't find it, and when I do find records other places, they don't mention the names I have that are supposed to be buried there. Perhaps their graves no longer exist...I have a Frederick Wm King and a Sarah Ann Hanna that are supposed to be buried there. Sarah had a brother buried at Nashville Cemetery. I checked to see if any of Jacob Hanna's two wives have died recently and found they had, and added them to it. I wanted to see where Jacobs parents were and link him to them, and I have been doing just that, however, I can't even see if there is a cemetery listing for the cemetery...I can add it, but don't want a dup.
the cemetery is on the north side.

Oryszczy grave pic thanks!
Hello:

I am a grand-nephew of John & Mary Oryszczyn. You posted a nice pic of their memorial at St. James Cemetery in Toronto. Can you share any information on who requested the pics? I live in Virginia, USA and am doing genealogy research and trying to locate descendants in Canada and USA.

Hi: I was just wondering if the Simon Thomson you posted on Find a Grave had a wife named Mary Jane(Norwood)Thomson? I'm doing some Family History Research and if this is the right person then he is my late Grandmother's Grandfather. If you could get back to me I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Dearborn family headstone photos
HI: I was very excited/thankful to see the photos you contributed of the Dearborn family. Everett's first wife was Minnie Ida Winger(whom I trace my ancestry through) and she is buried in Springvale Greenwood Cemetery, Haldimand County. Oddly enough her name is not on the headstone but Everett's is. I just walked this cemetery(and took pictures) in Nov. 2014 when I visited my Dad and did not locate Everett's headstone....further research led me to your picture. Again thank-you for sharing. It has helped me fill in several blanks in my tree.

Would it be acceptable if I add your photo to my Ancestry tree. If so I will definitely add contributor name and location found in the description section to give you your just dues for sharing the photo.
Thank-you for your consideration in this matter.
Colleen
