RE: Huff/Hays families
You are invited to a genealogy/family reunion on June 14th, 2014 at Roaring River State Park, Cassville, MO. My aunt Evellyn Killman-Robertson will be camping in Campground #1, Site #74 the week of June 8th thru June 15th. We are trying to get everyone there on Saturday the 14th which we thought would be easier since most people are off on the weekend. Bring your family, lawn chairs, pictures and genealogy stuff. Hope to meet you soon!!!!!!!!

Leroy Dedmon
Edmond Deadman
Vicki, I thought I had a picture of Edmond's headstone, but as it turned out it appears to be John or James, I can't make out the letters. Danny McBee had a lot of pictures taken at Deadman Cemetery and he sent them to me, but I long ago sent the back and still kicking myself for not copying them. I think his email is mcbee49@aol.com. He may have a list of those buried there. Thanks for the great work you do.

Catherine Courson
Hi,

Memorial # 72277513 (Catherine Courson) who m. Alexander McClelland is incorrectly linked to Benjamin Courson and Dungan of Bucks Co., PA. Catherine's father was Benjamin Courson, but he died in Licking Co., Ohio - no marker is known. He had an unknown wife. I am direct descendant of Benjamin Courson of Licking Co., Ohio, the father of Catherine Courson. My involvement in the Corson DNA project has proven the disconnect between the Licking Co., Ohio Courson group and the Bucks Co., PA group. I would disconnect the parents.

Catherine Winters - Mem. No. 75826572
Hi Vicki,

I'm a descendant of Joseph and Catherine Martha
(Decker) Winters of Fulton County, PA. Their
daughter, Catherine (12/30/1837 - 10/12/1875) was
buried in the Diehl Grave Yard in Union Township,
Fulton County. On her memorial, will you please make the correction regarding her mother's name from Mary Robison Winters to Catherine Martha Winters.

Mary Robison Winter(s)- some used the name Winter,
others used Winters - was actually her brother
Morgan's wife, so her sister-in-law, and was not
her mother. You may check this all out by looking
at the records of Joseph and Catherine. Joseph's
memorial no. is 75826610. All of these names can get confusing, I'm sure.

I'm a granddaughter of another Morgan Winter, who was a son of Ezra, one of Joseph and Catherine's five children. So, Joseph was my great-great-grandfather.

Thank you very much for posting all of this info.
on the web site. I'm wondering if these old
grave sites in the Diehl grave yard can still be
located, and is it permissible to go onto the state game lands? Thank you and Happy New Year.

RE: William Kilgore
Hello Vicki and thanks for your reply. It's nice to hear that we are both related to William. Could you please link up the following on William Kilgore's record?

Wife - Fronia Belle Bible Kilgore - 113440335 (you manage her record currently)

Father - John Archibald Kilgore - 7544493
Mother - Susan Angeline Ealey Kilgore - 7544494

I'm also pretty confident that William's middle name was Andrew.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Lee

Ebenezer Cemetery
Hi Vicki,
Guess you thought I forgot you, I finished up Ebenezer Cemetery the other day, sorry to say I didn't find the other graves you have requested. There could be several possibilities, there are a lot of unmarked graves....actually they are marked with rocks but no names. The Caretaker told me a lot of them were from an influenza epidemic. Another thing could be that there was just a funeral home marker on the plot, and it has been destroyed by weather, mowing, etc. I went through and took pics of every single marker....but the Billion Graves App for an Android phone doesn't always work right. I would take say 300+ pics and while uploading some just up and disappeared. Then I'd get a message to check and see which ones were missing......yeah like I'm gonna remember. So it is possible that I did take a pic of the marker and the app screwed it up. What a headache this app has been. For instance a stone with two names on it (John & Jane Doe). I would take a pic of the whole thing, then a closeup of each name or military marker. I'd go home upload and transcribe, the app would have the Doe Stone, with John Doe, and Mary Smith. Jane Doe wound up somewhere else down the line. And if that's not bad enough if you look on Billion Graves at Ebenezer Cemetery, (there are markers for each grave photographed) some of the markers on the map aren't even in the Cemetery they are down the road. I guess I should have bought an I Phone, but I really like my Droid. Anyways I will be out taking more pics hopefully all week at other cemeteries maybe I'll find somebody else you are looking for.

I tried to get the inscription, but it is so worn I couldn't get enough letters figured out to make sense of it. As to Amelia and John, I always cringe when I find one of those gray stones with raised gray letters, because they just do not photograph well, in sun or shade. I tried a close-up, but it wasn't any better than the full shot. I think theirs just had their names and dates. That cemetery is not close to my home, but if I ever get over there again, I will write it all down for you.

Oak Grove
Hi Vicki, you are very welcome, it was our pleasure. We tried to find all your requests , could not find the Steers, but the cemetery was quite large and we stopped without a list , used our phones to look for names. Just on case you didn't notice, the Sewards were on one side of the stone and the Vrooms? were on the other side, didn't notice at first as we split up and each take a couple rows. Inside the mausoleum were some Seymour's too. We got lucky and met a cop who was also the Vice President of the cemetery board and he had a key and let us in. Just so you know this is a beautiful, well maintained cemetery. His name is John Stretch and was very helpful and knowledgable about oak grove . Take care , Connie and Wayne Clark, Auburn, Illinois
