Ralph & Dorothy Newby

Could I get you to remove the graveyard photos you have added to the Find a Grave memorials for Ralph and Dorothy Newby? It turns out they were buried in an older cemetery that no longer exists and I have already moved them to the older one. The man who researched this has posted a map to show where the correct cemetery was and the map agrees with the written accounts.

Ralph Memorial # 92913575
Dorothy Memorial # 92913947

Thanks so much!

2 Fairview Cemeteries - the same?!
Got so excited I click too soon!

I'm pretty sure that these are the exact same cemetery.

"Wheatley, Chatham-Kent Municipality, ON with 38 memorials AND
"515 Erie St. South, Chatham-Kent Municipality (Essex co) ON with 12 memorials. It has a note posted that it's "historical Mersea Twp.".

On Star shows only one = listed as in Leamington, ON at the Erie St. address - none listed in Wheatley.

Please help F.A.G. put them together if this is true. AND yes I know there's another Fairview listed as "Con 3 Lot 11, S. Gosfield Twp Ruthven, Essex co, ON but the cemetery photo proves that is a different one than the two above.

P.S. Your photo of the 38 graver one shows wooden crosses like the ones I saw in the Erie St. one. Which leads me to believe that those two are the same one!

Some one has started two different cemeteries with the same name at the same address of 3305 Sandwich st. Would you please ask F.A.G. to combine/link them for us USA people who are looking for the RIGHT ONE?

One has St Johns and the other has St John's!

I have to place a baby's grave in there that's how I came across it.

Memorial # 102643298
Oops I was a bit fast with pressing enter.
What I wanted to ask you was, could you please remove your picture from that memorial. It clearly shows a woman (in this case Mathilde de Dammartin) and should not be on this memorial.
Best regards

I am researching a friend's family, and found a death certificate for a family member buried in Kings Cemetery in 1916. I noticed you had taken the photo of the sign at this cemetery. I live near the Powell area, but I can't find the location of this cemetery anywhere. I have checked old topographic maps, and the TNGenWeb Cemetery Database website. Could you give me directions to the location, or the coordinates for it?

I think you've got it
Thank you so much for your prompt reply! Here's some info on the Minnie Taylor Derwent connection. Minnie Taylor (born 1857 in Illinois) married John Charles Derwent (born Massachusetts perhaps around 1846) on 1 August 1872. He was a Civil War veteran. They had three boys. John Charles Derwent died 17 March 1893 and is buried in the Coloma township Cemetery in Rock Falls, Illinois.

Minnie Taylor Derwent then remarried to John McCavett on 27 January 1898 per the Illinois marriage records online database. They're in the 1900 census, living in Illinois with two of her boys. John McCavett died 6 December 1918. I think I saw somewhere that he was buried in Illinois; not sure about that. In the 1920 census, Minnie is living in Illinois as a widow with one of her sons and his wife.

Minnie apparently died in 1920; not entirely clear since they tend to butcher the spellings of McCavett and Derwent. I haven't found burial records for her.

I think you're right about the divorce. Fascinating! Thanks again for getting back to me.

John D. McCavett
Greetings from Michigan. I'm trying to determine if your John D. McCavett is the same John McCavett that married the widow of John Charles Derwent, who was Minnie Taylor Derwent McCavett. The death date of 1910 doesn't quite correspond to the one that I have, which is 1918, so it may be somebody different. Do you have source information from which you pulled your John D. McCavett? Thanks in advance for any light which you can shed.

J M Asserson
Hi Sam

I am looking for an Asserson and I think it could Joseph Marcus. According to my grandmother's birth register, she (Joan Marjorie Asserson) was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa on 14/06/1930 to Margaret Judith Ungerer and a J M Asserson.

She was told that he was from Belgium, had his own business in Port Elizabeth and died on his way abroad when my grandmother was only a few months old. I think my gran may have been born out of wedlock so I don't know how much of that story is true, but if you can help in any way I'd really appreciate it.

Kind regards

Hendrik Reynecke
