Duplicates in Glasco, again
Thanks for letting me know. It's SO helpful when you photograph the stones and we can correct those pesky spelling mistakes. I've deleted the dupes.

..Бе RELATEDImagesWilliam Andrew Gray, 81, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014. He was born Oct. 26, 1932, in the Gray family home southeast of Jamestown, to William Inglis and Loretta Gray.

His loving wife Yvonda preceded him in death after 59 years of loving partnership and marriage.

His two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Linda Gray, of Salina, and Stacey Gray and Kim Cochran, of Olathe, survive him. Additionally, he had six grandchildren, Austin and Delaney Gray, of Nashville, Tenn.; Jordan Gray and Vanessa Rupp, of Lee's Summit, Mo.; Katie Gray Scaduto and Michael Scaduto, of Overland Park; Thomas and Kaitlin Gray, of Olathe; Casey Shreve, of Lawrence; and Brighton Gray, of Olathe. He also was blessed with two great-grandchildren, William Scaduto and Graycen Scaduto, of Overland Park.

Bill lived his life centered in family, friends and his church. Belmont Boulevard Christian Church was his church home for more than 40 years and all his church family will miss him dearly. He will be greatly missed as an incredible husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Bill will always be remembered as a long-time plumber/pipefitter in the Salina area and was proud to be a member of Local 441 of the pipefitters union. He served as scoutmaster of troop 23 for many years and remembered fondly all his scouts. After retiring from plumbing, Bill worked in maintenance for USD 305 and taught Vo Tech plumbing in Goodland.

He loved barbecuing, was a certified BBQ judge and an avid woodcarver who loved to share both his brisket and carvings with family and friends.

Late in life he found great enjoyment in bowling with his league friends and dancing with the jolly mixers where he met his companion, Wanda Hill.

The family will receive friends from 3- 5 p.m. Sunday evening at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb 3, at Belmont Boulevard Christian Church. Graveside services will be held at the Jamestown Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Feb 3. Memorials may be made to Belmont Boulevard Christian Church, 2508 Belmont Boulevard, Salina 67401. For more information, or to send an online condolence, visit or on Facebook.

Thank you for the lovely photos. I was surprised at the uniqueness of the family memorial. My husband and I made the trip from California to Kansas for the sake of genealogy in 2012 and had the most amazing time. His Dewey family is from there. We went to Mount Hope cemetery (See Joseph Erastus Dewey)and easily found the Dewey plot. I didnt know at that time about Fred Parkhurst who was married to Dan's grandfather's sister. Now I have a question. Would you have any idea who I could talk to regarding cemetery records from the early 1900's? We were unable to find my husband's great grandmother who died there in 1909 and was said to be buried there. There is more of a story than there is room for here. If you could give me a name, I would be most grateful. My email is svw1946@gmailcom.
Again thank you for the photos and for going out in the cold to get them.

Krenkel to Krenkle
Just went through the families connected at Glasco, madly changing Krenkel to Krenkle.

I really appreciate your diligence in finding these spelling differences.

Thanks again, so much. I used the spelling in the Cloud County Cemetery books and newspaper accounts ---- not always the most reliable sources.

William Barney Adkins, Glasco
Thanks for noticing the duplicate. The cemetery book just had him entered as Barney --- I never looked for a William. I deleted my dupe after I linked his son and his wife to the earlier one.

I was supprised, because that normally does not happen. I only spotted them because I was connecting a spouse.
