Jeri,

Awesome photo! Thank you so much!! Now I can confirm what info I gleaned elsewhere but was only about 90% sure. I also learned from your photo that Peter had an infant/toddler son and BOTH died in New Orleans within a couple of weeks of each other (Peter died of yellow fever so I'll assume his son did, too, during the epidemic then). Peter was my mother's dad's grandfather (my GG grand father). The toddler would have been my grand father's uncle.

Again, thanks a million for your help - and quick, too! I hope it wasn't too much trouble. Need any pics from the Gilroy/Morgan Hill area (south of San Jose, Ca.)?

Best regards,

Doug Weber Marlitt

I don't know who his grandparents were but left a message on the board of Cindy, who I transferred that memorial to. Hopefully, she'll know.

It is, thank you very much! I was actually there just a couple weeks ago. I didn't take pictures of her memorial but gathered a lot of info. :-)

According to my cemetery records it shows Lee as maiden name = I will print this memorial out and take it with me on my research trip and ask someone else what their records show.

Oh, that's fine. Thanks for those.

I have retired after 30 years of teaching and am now totally consumed by genealogy and searching for my Illinois family.

My grandparents both grew up in Liv. Co. but moved to Iowa to farm, so we grew up away from hundreds of relatives that I keep finding!

Thanks for all you do. Your entries enable others to find who they are seeking. Thanks for sharing.

Jeri,

I got your message. I checked my list of memorials, and do not have any for this cemetery. Hopefully I may have some the next time you go out there. Are you close to any other cemeteries? Thank you for all your help.

Thanks so much for posting the photo. I think about her often. I hope to put flowers on her grave in person soon but until then being able to do it virtually is nice.

Jeri

Thanks for the photo of Mr. Hackney's headstone.

His bio doesn't mention that he was part of a B-29 outfit (58th Bomb Wing) that took the first B-29s into combat against the Japanese throughout SE Asia and on mainland Japan itself.

He was certainly a true American hero.
