Thomas Jones Question
Hello Beth,
You have a grave for Thomas Jones, #107237880. You reference a Source "There the Heart Is, A History of Brighton, Illinois, 1826 - 1964". Is there any more text about Thomas Jones here. I have been looking for the grave for Thomas M Jones who died after 1860. This family is buried at Miles Station Cemetery but I am unable to find burial records to confirm his burial there. Here is the link to his memorial http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSsr=1&GSmcid=47558495&GRid=102251980&

thanks,
Claude McDonald

Hi Beth,

Thank you for the spelling correction for the maiden name of Edward Gocke's mother. I have fixed it on his memorial and appreciate you taking the time to write.

Thank you so very much for transferring the management of Benjamin's memorial to me--and a HUGE thank you for the work that you are doing with the cemeteries in Jersey County. After wading through waist-high grasses and day lilies in Armstrong Cemetery in June 2006, to find our Armstrongs, we drove around the beautiful country roads and were awed by the number of small cemeteries that we saw everywhere. (No one had warned us about the rattlesnakes, of course, but we had the good sense to wear thick leather boots!)

RE: Metzger/Armstrong in Brighton Cemetery
Actually, I only added one person. Since the person I added lived in the Jersey County area, I wonder if perhaps there is some older cemetery that once went by the name of Brighton, but is called something else today?

Hey Beth! I added the links to her parents... Since you are a relative, do you want me to transfer the memorial to you? Just let me know!

The Pistole family
I am wondering if you are a descendant of the Pistole family? On the messages for JO Hern, I see you have created some links on the Pistole memorials.

I have been searching for more information for William R. Pistole and his son, Alford Henry Pistole (Find A Grave Memorial# 26559254) buried in the same cemetery as his father. He was married to Elizabeth Ann Holland 16 Feb 1841.

If you have any more data on these two men, I would appreciate you contacting me.

Hi Beth,

Links to Elizabeth's parents have been added. Thanks for taking the time to share her mom and dad's memorial numbers with me.

Please don't ever hesitate to send links, corrections and/or additional information for any of my Find A Grave memorials. I would like for each one to be as complete and accurate as possible in order to provide a fitting tribute to the folks we've lost.

Thanks again for your help!

Lynn

RE: Jones
I found the Crowders in the Woodburn cemetery as I suspected. I received the records from the caretaker. They are all without headstones. Mary Ella Jones-Crowder was listed as Molly Crowder. Molly was her nickname.

Thanks for all you help for me and everyone else, it is very much appreciated.

Thank you so much for the work you are doing to preserve old gravesites and cemeteries. I feel very fortunate to have this picture and confirmation of her husband for my research. I am also related to the Doughtertys, so I'll be back! Carolee Grove #47648201

RE: Jones
Beth,
Thank you I did have these but not the burial location (lot 38). I have been working with the fine people at the Macoupin genealogical society for over a year. Their records have gaps which I am trying to fill any way I can.

Thanks for the look up.

Does that book have information on Woodburn and Miles Station Cemetery? I have 1 relative who I think is buried in Mile Station and 3 relatives who are buried Woodburn that I would like confirmation and location.
