This is my mother's page if you would like to see her. I haven't written a bio yet, finding it difficult to do. Will do so as soon as I finish my brother's bio, which is still incomplete after too may years :/.

RE: Thank you for the lovely token
I will :) Momma worked for a stockbroker for years, a very well paid and important position at the time, and gave it all up at the age of 35 to be married for the first time. Quite a different world back then.

Take care!! You are on my friends list too.

RE: Thank you for the lovely token
I remember seeing my mother's yearbook many years ago when she was still alive, but it has disappeared, unfortunately. She also graduated in a January class like your mother, and I was lucky enough to find that yearbook page on Ancestry just today. I think they later moved over to East 68th street (?)because my aunt graduated from New Utrecht H.S. in 1957.

Good to hear from you!

Thank you for the memories
And I remember growing up, if you were to "pay someone a visit" meaning, physically going to their place, it was "cheap" to show up with cakes from a trucked in location. Like, maybe Entamins, but other packaged cakes and trucked in stuff was frowned on at first as an offering. You had to stop and get something from the bakery everyone knew. Gosh, that seems like so long ago. Again, thanks for the memory gongs!

Yes I remember the Easter Pies
On Staten Island, a notoriously Italian dominent territory. My family would get insulted if you brought "store-bought" holiday pies, because it meant that you were not into the tradition and "faked." Some of my family did not take it lightly if you presented "faked" traditions. It had to be yours, and there had to be a story behind it, who taught you to make it, what ingredients you used, where you got the ingredients. It's hard to think of how peole thought 30 or 40 years ago in NYC, but it is possible. I remember how much controversey was kicked up by prospective daughter-in-laws who brought store-bought pies for celebrations, and how many sons got "evil-eyes" for placing such obvious fakes on a Staten island Italian table :)

Congratulations during this
Easter Holiday. Thank you for th eEaster blessings beamed to me! Lots of memories of NYC with seasonal easter cakes and pies, both meat and fruit pies. Is all the snow melted in NYC yet?

Thank You!
Thank you for your kind comments and generous praise. It is very satisfying to realize that by me taking a single picture and getting info from a death certificate then you posting the info on your marvelous and informative blog could have brought about such a reunion. Have a wonderful holiday my dear friend.

I love to visit your memorials
beause of the positive feelings they provide me. Your family history is interesting and unique. And your mom comes from a powerful woman, you grandma Josie. Spring sprung here in Seattle months ago. There was no Winter here. The temp in my neighborhood got down to 29 F just once in Nov'14. Thats it. I think of you in the best times of my day. All the bestto you EmilyAnn!
