Gibson Harris Family
You have placed a gravestone photo for Gibson Harris' memorial page #101681244. Would you place the same photo for Gibson's wife, Elizabeth #101681, and his son, John #101682024. All three individuals are inscribed on the same gravestone. I have a photo request for Elizabeth and John which you can claim. Thank you. Mike

In the Old (Albion) Cemetery in Albion, Edwards County, Illinois, you have placed the wrong gravestone photograph on the memorial page of Lizzie Harris #101681166. It should go to the Vernie Harris memorial in the same cemetery. Thank you. Mike

RE: Smith Family Tree
Hi Sheila. I'm curious how you are related -- I am not the expert on the Smith family tree but my mother in law Ruth Chalcraft Ewing passed away 5 yrs ago and she left us her info. This is my husband's line. Also Lois Goodson, who passed away last year, was the expert on Smith. She comes in through the Simms'. One time, though, Lois lost her data base in a computer crash so took mine to begin her work again. She never posted to Ancestry.com I don't think. There is a Smith and Thread chowder every year in Albion, IL and Lois kept up with all the births, deaths and marriages. I have a copy of the William Smith family tree revised edition, publ Jan 1968 and updated 1990. Lois Goodson was the original author and it was updated by Helen Bunting. I have not put this all in my computer. If you want me to do a lookup for you, let me know. The Edwards co Historical Society would have more up to date info, as they have all of Lois Goodson's work. Lois did a large family tree for her only son Allen Goodson, Jr, and she would have gone all the way back on the Smith's. I don't have a copy of that.

I like find a grave if people like you and I post the things we know for sure. It is a lot more accurate than ancestry.com people who just take other people's work and add it to their own genealogies. When we cleaned out Ruth Ewing's home, I left most of her Smith data in the Edwards Co Historical Society. We took data home as it pertains to cousins and aunts and uncles only. We live in MN and I am not able to take photos of ancestor's graves in S. ILL as I know Ruth and Lois did for many years. When you posted I was just wondering if I have any grave stone photos of the Smiths but have not come up with any yet. You can email me directly at ophovenewing@yahoo.com if interested. Bev

Hi Sheila, I hope it has been a great new year for you. We had talked about the Seibert Cemetery in your area before. Not sure how the weather is there and if you had had a chance to find the cemetery yet. Hope all is well for you. Thank you for your efforts and the research you have done on this so far. Susan

RE: Problem...
Please send in the specifics to katrina@findagrave.com and I will look into it. If the member has been marked inactive we can usually transfer a few memorials that are related. If they have passed on, we need to check to see if there is a steward setup to manage the memorials.
