|Eleanor Morrison Lawson||many Henderson, Ruth, Buncombe names|
Thank you so very much for your dedicated helping of others through Find A Grave. Thanks to you and others I can see my families graves and grave markers. Many years ago I started this journey in genealogy and at that time I personally visited many cemeteries in NC and SC. Now because of age and health I am unable to. I am trying very hard to get as much family history as I possibly can on Ancestry and Family Tree Maker for my descendants and others so that they may know their heritage. Thanks for allowing me to make copies of your photos to help with my family files. God bless you in your helping other people like myself.

I have pulled information from the obituary and created a bio for her. I don't add obituaries to memorials. Thank you for the information.

The index published by the Register of Deeds is in error and shows this:
Name FRYE MARY J
Roll 0012 Number 0897
Parents J COLBERT & ELLEN MURPHY
Would not be the first time official records have had errors in recording. I'll let them know next time I'm over there so they can correct it.

The index record on file in Forsyth County shows first name as Mary which is what I was going on as to her name. Would have to check the actual record to make sure. . . . will try and get over there on Monday.

|Anonymous||Joseph C. Cheek|
Joseph Cranfield Cheek or Joseph Cranfill Cheek was my great grandfather, and the middle name was very popular at that time, probably in honor of beloved local doctor, Dr. M. L. Cranfill. There are several spelling variations. However,
if you look closely at the headstone, the date of birth is
4 Feb. 1863, (not 1803) and death is 4 Dec. 1896. The inscription below reads 33 years, 10 months which fits the 1863.
Thanks for all you do.

|Barbara Reid Ruiz||Clingman Cemetery|
The 1939 Survey of Forsyth County Cemeteries listed this cemetery as:
Poindexter Graveyard, on county road from
Louisville, Forsyth County, N.C. to
Huntsville, on north side of road, about
one-half mile east of the Yadkin River bridge.
[Please add this to the description of the cemetery as it has apparently changed names and perhaps county since that publication]

Oh my! I don't have access to pics as I don't live in the area anymore. I am still new to this too. Haven't figured out how to do everything just yet. Tips would be welcomed :)

FYI, Thelma's middle initial is R vs P.
Her maiden name is Thelma R Russell. So the R could stand for her maiden middle initial or for her surname of Russell.
If you look real close, it is an R on the gravestone.
Thanks for all the hard work.

Yes, the spelling of that name is often mispronounced and mispelled, but in those days they wrote it as they heard it. :-) I've seen it as Hutchens, Hutchins, or Houchens, etc. Most of the names now in Yadkin and Surry are Hutchens and to a lesser extent Hutchins. One of my ancestors in Bryan County, GA shows as "Cardor", and not Carter, and it took me forever to find him on the census.

Kenneth Loyd Mackie - Grave Memorial #108892542
I have been researching my Pollard family for over 25 years. I descend from Nancy Pollard and her son, Etheldred Pollard.
Kenneth Loyd Mackie married in to my Pollard family - he married Mildred Maultsby Pollard (her 2nd marriage).
Is Kenneth Loyd Mackie a part of your family? If so, how are you related?
If Kenneth isn't a part of your family, would you mind if I took over your memorial for Kenneth?
