I came across FindAGrave doing genealogical research for my ancestors. I found an ancestor's grave on the site and requested a photo. Almost "instantly" one of the wonderful folks associated with this community took a picture and posted it. I was hooked and knew that I was going to have to do my part. I don't have a lot of free time but enjoy searching out spots in local cemeteries for folks who need photos taken. Connecting to your ancestors and the history around them is important for lots of reasons, not the least of which is understanding that ultimately we're all connected.
