|Charles Temple||William Washington Price|
William Washington Price was my g-grandfather's (Marquis D. L. Price) brother. Please add the following to this memorial:
William Washington Price was born in Alabama and his father, Sterling Russell Price, brought the family to Texas in 1848, settling in Smith County. In 1853, he married Nancy Margaret Scott (1833-1915). They had six children. He joined the 37th Texas Cavalry in 1863 and served in Texas and Louisiana. While on duty, he contracted a fever and was hospitalized at Columbus, TX. When furloughed due to his illness early in 1864, his wife took a family wagon all the way to Columbus and returned him home. He never recovered.
Children: Cynthia Jane (1854-?)
Mary Josephine (1855-?)
Nancy Elizabeth (1857-1930)
Martha Ann (1859-1878)
William Franklin (1861-1935)
Thomas W. (1865-1907)

Hi Pat and Ron,
Thank you so much for transferring Dora's memorial to me. Have a nice day, Susan

Understood. I always thought my fathers in laws first name was Cecil only to find out when he died that it was his middle name. I believe the markers and stick with that. I know they CAN be wrong too but I think they are the most reliable. It will be interesting to see which way the stone reads". I will contact you when I have photos.

Does the info match pretty well? When the records are transcribed years ago and again to digitize, sometimes there are changes. And I swear some clerks never could spell!

Pat and Ron, I have transferred the four Kates I created in Lakeview Cemetery. Please keep in mind that I added them strictly from cemetery records that are notoriously erroneous! Lol. I will add them to my priority photo list for this summer when I return to Lakeview.

|Dalton J. Nix||Family of George Washington Payne|
This morning I received a request from a third party asking that I remove my post for Tempy Payne at Sauls Cemetery, because yours was older. I have removed my listing. I have a connection to this family and have some family information that I will share with you if you are interested. My direct connection is to their daughter Alice Missouri and her husband Harvey Andrew Nix, but I research entire families because of the additional information it provides about the area and the time in which they lived. I will share any that you are interested in. Dalton J. Nix email@example.com.

Thanks Pat, I see the name on the marker is Prestige (which is why it didn't show up in search) and since Mr. Prestridge made a memorial he should know. Sometimes the marker is wrong. I appreciate you calling this to my attention.

Pat, I do not have any stories to share. But I am glad to know that we are cousins. Delilah Hammonds and Martha Hammonds are my great great grandmothers. Delilah and Martha are sisters. Delilah married Robert F. Brazziel and Martha married William Porter Shine.

You are so welcome. Sorry your aunt's name doesn't show up clearer -- I tried several settings. Her name's chiseling is narrower and not as deep as your uncle's. I also found the differences in her name and spelling interesting.
