I discovered Find A Grave while researching my family background on Ancestry.com. It has been a valuable resource and I hope to contribute more in the coming years. At this point, I am just trying to gather my family members together so I can link and update their memorials and leave something of value for subsequent generations. In October of 2012, my brother and I took a trip and visited 14 cemeteries in 4 different states, confirming my family history and the additional information I found on Ancestry and other sources. It is such an awesome experience to stand at the grave of a great grandparent or other family member, knowing your family all stood in that same spot at one time.
