I spend a lot of time in cemeteries, photographing, verifying and cleaning up gravesites, for the Historical Society, myself and Find-a-grave. It can be a lot of work, but the pleasure and satisfaction I receive is worth it all. I have many more pictures of headstones to be added to this site, as time allows, in cemeteries from the West coast to the East coast.|
I will be glad to look for your ancestor's grave in Lancaster County, PA, IF you have basic information to help me with your search.
I will, also be glad to transfer your ancestors grave to you, IF IT FALLS WITHIN FIND-A-GRAVES GUIDELINES AND IS NOT IN MY OWN FAMILY LINE.
I will not add obituaries and/or photographs that fall within the copyright timeframe. Please do not ask me to add unverified biographies, and information that is only of interest to you. (trips you shared, hobbies of deceased, how they were sweet to you at Christmas, where they lived in the 1930 census, etc.) After all, this is not a genealogy site, but is a tool that can help Cemetery Historians as well as family historians and genealogists, alike.
I may on occasion add little sayings on headstones at your request, HOWEVER, it is up to my discretion. If you have something to add that I have mentioned above, please contact me and I will be more than happy to add it for you. I will be more than happy to link them to children, parents and spouses.
I have been inundated recently to add things like, "Sister" or "Mother." I feel the most important things on Memorials are Name, Dates and family links. I will add Biographies as long as it is just that, and not things like "My granny baked the best cookies" etc. I just do not have time to do that sort of thing.
I have received quite a few requests to transfer listings and thought this might be a good time to change my profile information to reflect my personal policy.
Enjoy my blog on graveyards, I've listed the URL below!

|Fluttrbye||Michael Strine #36044162|
I am having trouble determining the wife's name of Michael Strine #36044162.
Would you happen to know if it is the person who shares the grave marker base with Michael Strine, (Anna Eliza)? Or is it Anna Maria Shreiner, born 1798 who shares the burial area as Michael?
Could it be that Anna Maria Shreiner is the same person that Anna Eliza is?
I know records indicate that Michael Strine married Anna Maria Shreiner in 1818. I just don't know if she is the same person as Anna Eliza. I cannot find any records with Anna Eliza on them.
I am certainly confused on this.
And thank you for all that you have done with these Strein and Strine ancestor information. It has all helped me a great deal to fill-in some blanks in my family tree!
|Fluttrbye||RE: John Jacob Strine # 31360768|
Documents from Strine family members indicate the following folks to be the parents of Rev. John Jacob Strine:
Johann Jacob Strein, SR
Birth 02 Feb 1756 Germany
Death 28 Oct 1831. PA
Buried at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church "Parish House" of Lancaster, PA (since he was a teacher, known as "Schoolmaster Strein", for the church).
Maria Barbara Hora
Birth abt 24 Feb 1772
Death. Lancaster, PA
Buried probably by her husband at the church.
My only next question is:
Do you know if Johann Jacob, SR and wife Maria Barbara Hora Strein are actually Buried at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church "Parish House" of Lancaster, PA located at 31 South Duke Street and 51 South Duke Street OR are they buried near their son, Rev JJ Strine at Woodward Hill Cemetery?
Any burial information will be helpful.
Thank you so much!

George was the husband of my wife's aunt. She would have lunch with George's mother once a week after George died.

Dear Linda Stienstra,
I noticed you created the findagrave.com memorial page for John Jacob Strine #31360768.
I am trying to find further family information for him. Would you happen to know who his wife and children were? Are they the other Strine family members buried in Woodward Hill Cemetery in the same Plot: Section K, 25-36 ?
I am simply trying to determine if or how this Rev. John Jacob Strine and his family members fit into my family tree. If he and his family are related, I want to be able to place them in the proper area of my tree.
Thank you so much for any information you can provide, for creating these memorial pages for these Strine family members and for your time.

Hi Linda, what info do you have linking John G to John Adam Nearhood? I have his parents as Michael Nerhood & Catherine Long. These early relatives are hard to isolate. Thank you for response ahead of time.
