Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am now a ninety one year old mother, grandmother, gr-grandmother, and recently a gr-gr-grandmother. On my 80th birthday my grandkids were ask to share what they remember about grandma. Because I realized they didn't know much about their ancestors, I decided to write down what I remembered of the stories that were told to me as I was growing up. That lead me to contact the Sequoia Genealogical Society.

Volunteers taught me how to find more than 100 years of local family history from the Tulare City Libraries Genealogical Collection.

One volunteer, a retired school teacher taught me, fourth grade style, how to search the Internet on the computer. That year my daughter and grand children gave me a computer for Christmas, and I was off and flying and now I added Find a Grave to my activities.

I am now a self appointed family historian who has been doing research on my own extended family, and that of my friends,

Seen on another contributor's profile. I couldn't agree more.

We are the chosen. In each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the storytellers of the tribe.

When you visit one of my memorials please leave a flower. I appreciate it when you say what relation, if any, to a person.

Because of my age I would like to transfer some of my memorials. For many of them, I am not a direct descendant, and I prefer to transfer to direct descendants. There are a few occasions where I will make an exception. I will not make any transfers unless you leave a flower and a note.

RE: Hazel Violet Crommett Warner
Your quite welcome.

Also buried next to, or very close by, Hazel Warner is Doris V. Tripidi (1929-1963) and Grace J. Nicols (Randall) (10/28/1926-? ). I took pictures of these two plaques also but can find no memorial page for them. Are they possibly the daughters of Hazel?

RE: Hazel Violet Crommett Warner

I did contact the cemetery again and they made a mistake on the correct name and dates of birth & death. I now have the right info and expect to take the picture and upload it in the next few days. Sorry for the delay.

Hi Audrey -
I've been having problems with F.A.G. in not receiving any notifications. I saw that you left me your message yesterday and chose to wait to see if I heard anything from F.A.G. I did go ahead and went thru the Hoult Cemetery to see which ones you transferred to me, but still nothing from F.A.G. Low and behold last night I must have received 15 notifications from F.A.G. including yours. I don't get on my PC at night as my eyesight is pretty bad.

All the above is to say how much I appreciate your kindness for all those transfers. We need more people like you on F.A.G. If I can ever do anything for you, please don't hesitate to ask.

Again, many thanks.

For the same edit you sent to Ellen for the 2nd time: From the records I have found Mr. Hawkins did not pass away in Hurdle Mills. His obit states that he died at Treyburn Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. I believe that is in Durham. His NC death index states:
Death City: Burnsville
Death County: Durham
That city with that county not an option on Find A Grave so I just have it listed as Durham County. His Social security death index lists Hurdle Mills as that was the last address SSDI had for him but he did not pass away in Hurdle Mills. His obit has that he was born in Orange County, I do not see in any records where it says Cedar Grove. If you have a source, please forward.
Thank you

Audrey, I never thought I would gain so much information about my ancestors with only my generation left. Thank you again.

Ralph L Hawkins 1908-1908
You requested Charlotte Louise Rountree Hawkins 1896-1958 to be added as his mother. She would have only been 12 years old. I think his mother would have been his father's 1st wife, Luvenia A Hawkins who died in 1912. I will correct his mother after I accept the edit. Please let me know if I did not figure that out correctly.
Thank you.

Hawkins Family
I am doing Ellen's edits while she is ill.

On the edits you requested:

James Monroe Hawkins: you requested Cedar Grove, Orange, NC. I can only find where he was born in Orange County. Please forward source for Cedar Grove.

Alvin Homer Hawkins: Same with his birth location. Plus you requested the death location as Hurdle Mills, Person County, North Carolina. The death index has Burnsville, Durham, NC.

Ralph L Hawkins: Please forward source for birth and death locations that you requested.

William F Hawkins: Same with his birth location. Plus you requested the death location as Hurdle Mills, Person County, North Carolina. The death index has Chapel Hill, Orange, NC.

On all but Ralph I will accept the edits but leave off the Cedar Grove until you send a source. I will also correct the death locations per death indexes that I located.

Thank you!!
