Bio Photo Most Ft. Snelling interments of servicemen and their families I have added I didn't know personally. I add head stone photos and a token/note when possible. I do this to honor the men and their families. I want to give their pages something more than just a name and a date.

"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."

I'm from Minneapolis, MN and have lived in this area all my life. I'm a proud veteran and spent 3 years in the army and I served two tours of duty in Viet Nam, (late 1969-1972.) I was wounded twice. I was assigned to The First Cavalry Division and was in the infantry and then a combat engineer & operated a bulldozer & later I was assigned to aviation and was a crew chief/door gunner on a UH-1 Huey helicopter. I'm a recipient of the Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts, two Air Medals, two Commendation Medals, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Aircraft Crewman Wings, & a Marksman Rifle Medal.
I'm a former local truck driver of 35 years and a former part time fire photographer for seven years. I was forced to retire in 2004 due to back problems. Now I spend time listing interments. I fill photo requests for Fort Snelling National Cemetery. If you see ANY FT. Snelling memorials with a mistake or missing plots & sections or need a spouse/parents links added please let me know and I will get it corrected or updated.
I do appreciate you visiting Aaron's memorial and for all of your kind words. Thank you so much. It has helped a lot with the passing of my beloved Aaron. Aaron was a blessing and I miss him so much.
If you see anything that I have submitted that needs correction, please let me know. I will be happy to correct it.

Dear Steve,
Diane Brown sent this to me. Please check out the thread from my page.
Lucille Marie McCall
You (ME) have Lucille Marie McCall showing buried at Resurrection Cemetery in Dakota County in Minnesota. She is my aunt, and I know personally that she is buried at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery with her husband M.O. McCall. The cemetery is in Minneapolis, MN. Her memorial # is 31051158. Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Steve you also have her @ Ft. Snelling. Mine has the vital info and a few flowers. Would like to merge them and give to this Diane Brown as she is a relative. You are so much more experienced at this thought I would give Lucille to you and let you decide how to fix this if you would help.

I will give you Lucille as soon as you say it is safe to do so. Last time I gave a memorial to someone they accused me of "dumping it on them"

The guy had pounded on me for weeks to get it, as he had the entire cemetery under his name. I gave it to him and then he went ballistic on me saying I gave him an unwanted memorial.

So I will wait for your response before signing it over to you.

Good Health and happiness in 2016 to you. Hope your doing well and as always "You da man" to go to with this stuff.

Thank you
Dear sir,
First I want to thank you for your dedicated service to this great country. I can tell by reading your bio that you sacrificed a great deal during your time in Vietnam and it is because of men like you that I joined the infantry and am proud to say that I am a veteran (3rd Battalion 2nd Marine Division India co.) As for the picture you took for me it is of my Great Grandmother Eleanor and no other family member has one so we all thank you.

Steve, of course your service to your country is exemplary and so is your service to those family members who have loved ones at Fort Snelling. The words,"Fort Snelling" always brings me to tears. First for my father, and secondly for my mother who was buried there next to him last April 21st 2015.

Your photo complete with the rainbow is especially moving and I like to think that I am looking at an old fire truck which has special meaning for me.

I appreciate all that you do for our veterans, our country and our National Cemetery and the families who are memorialized there. Words are all I have to express my gratitude.

Photo on my Bro. page
Dear Mr. Edquist,
First of all I would like to thank you for your military service. Secondly, as I was searching for my brothers gravesite online, I came across find a grave and was so delighted to see the picture that was posted on his page. It is so beautiful and gives me so much joy to be able to see his gravesite from so far away. I live in Cheyenne, Wyoming and rarely get back to Minnesota. When I am feeling sad that beautiful picture with the rainbow will help me feel better and closer to where he is. You have touched and helped hurting hearts. Thank you so much,
Maria Lemke

Ft. Snelling
Hello Steve,
Wanted to thank you for the photos of John Adams and Michael Alicante markers at Ft. Snelling. They are great and much appreciated.
About a month ago, during my travels on Find A Grave, I came across your bio. I visited the other memorial for Aaron and Scrappy, and as I was brought to tears, I thought how fortunate for Aaron that he was given to your loving care during his short journey here on earth. What a wonderful father you are :) !! !! Thank you for that memorial too, it touched my heart.

Your photo of Fort Snelling National Cemetery is absolutely awesome! You caught it at just exactly the right moment to enhance the beauty of the headstones all in an orderly row with God's rainbow above, like He is watching over all. Thank you for the magical moment you are sharing with all. :-)
