Bio

Born in Meadville, PA on a Leap Day ( Feb. 29, 1952); the first child of Lawrence W. Lauffer & Ruth E.(Wescott) Lauffer Bowes.

As a youngster, my father worked maintenance at Roselawn Memorial Gardens (Meadville, PA) and thus grew my fastination with cemeteries, headstones, and the past lives of our dearly departed.

A 1970 graduate of the former Conneaut Lake High School, Conneaut Lake, PA; married (May 1971) Terry John Kohler, the only child of John H. Kohler, Jr. and Margaret (Lowing) Kohler. I have 2 sons; Terry Jr. born 1974 & Rick Lee Kohler born 1976 and 6 grandchildren.

Hobbies include - Boating, Clowning, Family Genealogy, Swimming, Traveling & Vetting - and not necessarily in that order.

Retired Administrative Assistant and a retired Professional Clown! Graduated from Clown School (May 2010), exactly 40 years later (to the very day) as my high school graduation!

SONSHINE is a Christian Clown sharing the love of Jesus, who offers everyone the opportunity to receive His gift of eternal life. Biblical reference (John 3:16) - "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son (Jesus), that whosoever (you, me or anyone) believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

As is obvious by my lower number of Added and Managed Memorials (that include only family members, some friends, old neighbors and a few former classmates), I am NOT an Obituary Chaser!

My Findagrave objective is to add personal details onto the branches of the Lauffer-Wescott and Kohler-Lowing family trees, so future generations can know their ancestors in a much more personal way. A goal that will never be completely finished, but is a labor of love, which brings great joy!

Parents give their children 2 things: Roots & Wings!

A letter to our Ancestors:

Dear Ancestor,

Your tombstone stands among the rest; neglected and alone. The names and dates are chiseled out on polished marble stone.

It reaches out to all who care, but it is too late to mourn. You did not know that I'd exist. You died and I was born.

Yet each of us are cells of you in flesh, in blood, in bone. Our blood contracts and beats a pulse entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled 100 years ago spreads out among the ones you left, who would have loved you so.

I wonder if you lived and loved. I wonder if you knew, that someday I would find this spot and come to visit you.
