RE: McLain family
Hi Kathy,
How are you? I had a quick question. Is your friend from Ord have more of the newspaper articles available to her than is on the online archive?

RE: obits
Hi Kathy,

No I haven't sent you any obits for some time. I'm working on another project but will be sending hundreds more one of these days. I will email them to you as you requested. Enjoy the cooler days.

And another thing...
Are you related to W.W.Burr, the dean of the college of agriculture back in mid-last century?

RE: Cahill(s)
Just occurred to me -- you know you can get all the issues of the Ord Quiz online? (It's how I found out that my mother broke her arm at an entirely different place and time than I thought -- and Fred Cahill was driving!) You can find it here:

I've found it very searchable -- but if you're not sure exactly what years you're looking for, you can type the name + Ord Quiz into a Google seach and you can usually get a hit (I've found it great fun -- my mother had to take a year off from medical school, which she spent teaching high school chemistry in Ord. But I didn't know that she also led a Blue Bird troop -- and the Ord Quiz dutifully reported on their meetings! Not much got past the Ord Quiz!)

Howard County McLenithan photo
I am a Vermont Civil War buff, and am working on a project to identify the last resting places of many "old soldiers" who had ties to Vt. Adoniram McLenithan is one such patriot. I am asing if I may use the photo that you contributed to his Find A Grave memorial page, to be posted in the Vt. Civil War site? (
You would receive credit for this.

Thank you for your consideration

RE: McLain family
That is so cool and I'm sure you have blessed so many people by doing this!!! Tell your friend thank you for me!!! I actually got to visi the Ord cemetery on my way through Nebraska a little over a week ago and was able to visit all the McLain graves there. Before I arrived is when I looked up the graves on findagrave to see who all was buried there and that is when I saw the attached obituaries and it made me so happy!!! again, thank you sooo much!!!

McLain family
Thank you SO much for adding the obituaries to some of my McLain family buried in the Ord Nebraska cemetery (Alice McLain Payne, John Henry McLain and one of there daughters Marie Duemey)!!!! It was super exciting to find their obituaries attached and has helped me very much finding more family:) I just barely was able to find the family of Alice Payne (We never knew her maiden name or what part of Canada she was from!!!) THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! You have been a super big blessing:)
