Thank you again to all who continue to visit my angel momma and other memorials. Your thoughtfulness is always appreciated.
If you have time, this Memorial Day, please visit my step son's Fallen Battalion Brothers of the 3/25th Marines who lost their lives in Iraq in 2005. (Virtual Cemetery 10) My step son is being re-deployed this summer. Please keep him in your prayers.
May each of you be abundantly blessed!! XOXO
~~ Dear Ancestor ~~
Your tombstone stands among the rest, neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out on polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care; it is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist; You died, and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you: in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled one hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.
1 Dec 2009: Posted a Memorial for my friend and well known Paralympian, RANDY SNOW. Please pay him a visit if you have the time and keep his family in your prayers. Thank you!!

I think you must be talking about Rose Katherine Martin Nimricks.
Rose Katherine just died in Feb. (I thought I asked for that correction also??)I just found out that she had died this past week after e-mailing her daughter. I think Rose Katherine is the last cousin of that generation, since her cousin, my father died last year.
I had sent something funny that my Daddy had said when he was a teenager, that I thought Rose Katherine would think was funny AND she would know the rest of the story! I'm so sad I couldn't share it with her.
Sorry, I know that is more then you wanted to know!
Thank you for asking!

I researched at the office and confirmed that all graves located in section 300 are in Potters Field. Which the poor were buried and none have markers. I do have a photo of the overgrown field if you want me to post it.

yes, that would be very nice. thank you

Barbara's father Owen Colligan was my great uncle. His sister Julia Colligan Goss was my grandmother. I have the Colligan line back to their grandparents Bernard Colligan & Ann Furrell.

Absolutely you have permission to use the photo.
Unfortunately Rose Hills is the one of the largest private memorial parks with over 600,000 people interred. Occasionally, the grass over takes the markers.

|Roberta Moody||RE: John Brown!!|
You are welcome and I bet both John Browns are smiling
|RKI||RE: Daniel Webster Hartley|
I do not need this memorial transferred to me. I knew Daniel in high school but had no contact with him after graduation.

Thank you for bringing it to my attention that his wife was also buried there. I have linked them to each other as you suggested. Sorry it took so long, I haven't been on here much recently. Happy 4th & good luck with your research!
