Hi, I only became a contributor a few years ago. I have been fascinated reading the obits in the virtual cemetery. I guess it must be the history major in me. One of my most enjoyable pasttimes is reading. I especially enjoy histories and mysteries. My interest in history is mostly about American history, especially the Civil War and Abraham Lincoln. Reading about both has turned me into an ardent Unionist and Lincoln fan. The Union forever!

I was born in Ogden, Utah to an Air Force sergeant and his wife, James and Maxine (Swift) Entwistle. Consequently, I lived in several states and overseas in Japan (which I don't remember) and in Morocco (which I do remember). After my dad retired, I grew up in Oklahoma. I graduated from Midwest City High School, and then I attended Central State University, which is now the University of Central Oklahoma (earning BA in history and education and an MA in English). Then I was at Oklahoma State University (Go Cowboys!!) for 3 years working on a PhD. However, I finally got tired of school, so in 1978, I joined the Air Force, graduating from Officer Training School.I spent over 12 years in the Air Force as a missile maintenance officer at F.E. Warren AFB, an ROTC instructor at AFROTC Det 665, University of Cincinnati, and then as an education/training officer at the Defense Information School in Indianapolis and at Los Angeles AFB. I met my husband in the Air Force; we married in 1980 and have a son and a daughter. They're grown up, but they kept us busy with school and scouts. Jennie was in Girl Scouts and achieved the Silver Award. Mike is an Eagle Scout and has received his Bachelor degree in history and English, graduating Magna Cum Laude. I now teach English at a community college in San Antonio, TX. We also have 3 cats that we love a lot: Lady, Tramp, and Kitty-Kitty. We miss our one boy cat, Dusty, who died, but we know he's waiting at the rainbow bridge for us. Our sweet Shadow has now passed on to join her brother at the rainbow bridge. Goodbye, sweet girl. Sept. 9, 2014, we lost another sweet girl, Kitty-Kitty. We'll miss all of you.

I really enjoy searching for lost relatives and friends. I have been amazed to find two uncles,an aunt, and my maternal grandfather here, among others. There is one aunt I would love to find, but I do not know how to begin. My mother's sister, Emma Jean (or Emmajean) Swift disappeared from Oklahoma City around 1938-1940. We know through death records that she died in 1980 in the Fort Worth area. We always wanted to know the answer to "why" and to find her grave. If there are any detectives out there, maybe they can find her. She's probably buried in the Tarrant county area. UPDATE: Emma Jean has been found, and I have posted a memorial on FAG for her.

Family names I look for include: on my mother's side I am related to Swift, DeVall, Ogden, Dann, Williams families. On my father's side, I am related to Entwistle and Driscoll families (in Massachusetts mostly) Entwistles have been impossible to find although I know many of them must be interred in the Boston area and neighboring counties. My husband's families include Sauser and Gammell.

If you have time, please visit the pages of my family and friends listed here:
James Xavier Entwistle (father)
Maxine Entwistle (mother)
Lt. Charles Drayton Henricks (died in Vietnam)
Aden Swift (grandfather)
Velma Devall Swift (grandmother)

Polly Ogden, the wife of John. I would love to have an exchange through emails concerning Polly Ogden and a possible first marriage.

I believe Polly married first Henry Rathbun but no doubt divorced between 1822-1825. William C. Rathbun (at times Rathburn or Rathbone) is listed with a mother, Polly Ogden, on his death record in 1911. No father is listed no doubt as Henry Rathbun had died early. William C. Rathbun was born October 23, 1816 in Catherine, New York and died in Union, Pennsylvania December 18, 1911. I believe the William Ogden age 34, listed in the home of John and Polly Ogden in 1850 is actually. Further, William C. Rathbun is living next door to Polly Ogden in Union, Pennsylvania in 1870.

Your thoughts?

RE: Charles DeVall
I have checked the copy of the lot book and in the original cemetery in Lot 74 there are suppose to be 4 infants or small children buried. There is a Maudie Devall, Chettie Devall and a Lester Devall along with an infant . It looks like that was the one fore Chettie so we were both half right.I deleted the one for Charles since that was incorrect.
Is that Maudie or Mandie. The obit says Mandie. If it is Mandie and it is quite possible this is an N instead of a U, the name can be changed to be correct.

The next time I go Back I will see if Maudie's stone is still there. I find I have already taken pictures of all three of those stones at one time. There is none for the infant. I imagine it was either stillborn or died at birth. In most cases there isn't a stone put up for them but it is buried in the same lot as the other three.
When I am getting photos for someone else I try to take all the ones that I run across that are either broken and down on the ground or getting illegible so they will be there for the next generations.

Re:Charles DeVall in Burlingame Ks Cem
I think this may be another one of the children that died the same time as Lester. His stone is right next to Lesters

RE: Emmaline Ogden DeVall
I have added Maddux and McNutt info in the Haskew Cemetery and linked them to the DeVall's.
Checking on Laura DeVall parents, I have found a marriage license for her father under pmcbrasil family tree on Ancestry that listed the date of death for his first wife as Feb 9, 1894. This needs to checked before adding Betsey to Laura post.
Let me know what you find out.
