Bio

Hi,

I'm sort of new here. Feel free to email me if anything I have added is in error. I'm doing personal research and digging back into my own family history as well as my husband's and using this site to help me pinpoint dates, locations, and relationships so that I might tell the stories of those who have gone silent. No one wants to be forgotten.

My own family lines I'm tracing include a couple of different veins of Montgomery, Allison, Freeman, Pettit, Pack, Wood. As well as for my husband: Love, Montgomery, and Perry families.

I loved this short excerpt from the bio of another Find A Grave contributor named Judy Brantley Wilson, I could not find words for my purpose for being here.

" The Story Tellers... We are the Chosen.

My feelings are in each family there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. To me, doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead, breathing life into all who have gone before.

We are the story tellers of the tribe. All tribes have one. We have been called, as it were, by our genes.

Those who have gone before cry out to us: "Tell our story."

So, we do.

In finding them, we somehow find ourselves. "
