My mother is Mary B. (Stribling) LeCroy. I grew up with only my dad's relatives around. After my dad passed away, I started asking Mom about her family. She didn't know much and said no one was left. I talked with her sister also, and between the two of them, I got enough info to start looking. I made a trip to East Texas where they were born and low and behold, I found living relatives. I took my Mom for a visit. It was great. I found where my Stribling greatgrandparents were buried and started looking at the Court House. My Mom thought her dad, James J. Stribling only had two brothers. Well, he had 6 siblings. I have traced everyone of them and where they went and have even met some of the cousins that are still living. My mother was amazed. My mother's dad died when she was just seven years old and her Mom did not stay in touch with them after a few years. Most of my research has been online. It is so rewarding. I am proud to claim "Young Stribling" as a sixth cousin.
