DOES ANYONE KNOW THE NAME OF THIS UNION OFFICER? He appears to be a 2LT. What is HIS NAME AND UNIT. On the reverse side of the photo it says Partridge's Gallery, Wheeling West Virginia.
Findagrave was founded in 1998. When I first joined this site back in july 1999, we had to mail our photos to Utah and they would upload the records. This meant I did not get credit for many records. Anytime you see my photos dated before 2002, that meant I found the records but only credited with the photo. I have numerous trees on ancestry that I have done for friends. Ancestry com is where family trees are put together. Findagrave is a separate entity---This is one of my contributions I leave to future posterity.
Tips on researching your family tree. Records from the 1800s: Example 1. Mary T. Lincoln, the 'T' usually represents her maiden name, not her middle initial. Example 2. Robert Todd Lincoln. The first born son's middle name is usually his mothers maiden name.In this example, Todd is his mothers maiden name.
My goal is to do Quality Work, Not Quantity Work.Copyright information: You may use my photos. Most people do not give credit to the people who actually take the photos.People listed as FAMOUS on this site are "maintained by findagrave", which means only they can edit/add information. Any records I have that are Famous, I can't change a thing for you, sorry.
Bethel Cemetery, Illinois I have been to the area of the Bethel (Darter) Cemetery and it was so overgrown and muddy at the time I visited I could not find anything. I also got a map of the WASHINGTON County, Illinois area cemeteries from the court house. There is another cemetery just slightly NE to the Bethel (Darter) and it is called the Logan Cemetery on the map. I did walk that one and it had many Logans and Martins. When I call up Logan Cemetery I am directed to one in Ashley, Illinois. I have looked for an alternate name for this and can not find one. Were you able to do that cemetery also? Also, were the markers in the Bethel (Darter) Cemetery legible or did you obtain your info elsewhere? One you have an inscription for, Henry Darter. Where did you obtain this info? I think he is a relative and would be interested in a source. His granddaughter is Elizabeth Darter who was the wife of John W. Christian who is my great-great grandfather. Thanks for your time! RE: Peggy Sue Joyce Thanks for the quick reply, Tom. I can see now that the circular area must be where the flower vase got removed...it looked from the photo as if it was a headstone picture affixed to the marker. No need to re-photograph the image, but thanks for offering!
RE: Helen Darling, Memorial 148499703 Tom, THANK YOU so very much for fulfilling the photo request I submitted. Your time in helping my family by generously volunteering to take and post photographs of our Aunt's grave marker is greatly appreciated - our sincere gratitude for your thoughtfulness and kindness!
