|Eighteen or nineteen years ago a friend told me she had a new hobby, genealogy, and how much fun she was having. I immediately contacted my mother who informed me that we owned three family Bibles. I have been deep into this ever since. I started with my mother's family in Loudoun County, VA. Her parents were third cousins, a fact she did not know. Of course I added my father's family, my husband's family, and both my daughter-in-law's and son-in-law's families. Then by adding wives, mothers, sisters, brothers, ancestors, descendants, I have ended up with a database of about 37,000. All are related to me or to someone I am related to. |
Most of my time has been spent in Loudoun County, Virginia. I wrote two books on Union Cemetery in Leesburg, a book on Monocacy Cemetery in Bealsville, Montgomery County, MD, Death Records of Fairfax County, VA, and co-authored books on the Death Records of Loudoun County, VA and Marriages after 1850 in Loudoun County, Va. I have also been involved in the preparation of Cemetery Books published by Thomas Balch Library. All of these books are available through Heritage Books.
I am more than happy to share any information I have. My cemetery pictures are there for anyone who needs them. They have been taken over the last 19 years. I will ask that you let me know if you are using a family picture because that means you are probably at least a cousin and I want to know you.
If you see errors, please let me know. Let's get all these people linked! But PLEASE everyone, use the Edit button on the memorial that needs changing! It takes about 2 minutes to make changes using that button. It can take 1/2 an hour or more to find the memorial you would like changed, if you don't use that button, and often I cannot be sure if I am looking at the correct person even then. In that case I may spend an hour or more looking. That takes away from someone else's time. Be fair!

Hi, Betty. Thank you for the middle name suggestion. You asked for David Roderffer to be changed to David Mark Rodeffer. I would like to know your source, please. Where did this come from?
Thank you for taking the photograph of Lawrence Kennelly's marker. I really appreciate it.

I found his middle name (Samuel) and her true first name (Sylvia)in the obituary of their daughter Ardeth Crim Moler, first cousin of my wife, the daughter of Ruth Crim Bradfield, and submitted them as suggested changes. I have linked Ardeth to her parents, with whom she will be buried in Hillsboro. I plan to submit a photo request after there has been time to set a stone.
Thank you for the beautiful pictures of the Fry family members in Loudoun. I am a relative because my ggggrandfather Bauer married Magdalena Frey. The families are very large and the blood lines are thinning but I was happy to see these families still nestled in such a beautiful cemetery.
If you don't mind, I would like to use some of the pictures on our ancestry site. I will give credit to you and the Find a Grave Memorial. Thank you.
