Thanks to my Mother; Mary Eugenia (Whisman) Davis I have quite an extensive Family Tree. Some of them go back 10 and 12 generations.
I am a first generation Michigangander, but the first three generations of my ancestors all lived in Southeast Kentucky, Lee and Wolfe Counties for the most part. Before that most of them came from Virginia and North Carolina.
The last few years I have been on a quest to find and photograph as many of my ancestors gravesites or cemeteries as I can find. So far I have pictures of all of the first three generations, that includes; Father, Mother, all Grandfathers and Grandmothers all Great Grandfathers and Great Grandmothers,2 G.G Grandfathers and G.G. Grandmothers, 2 G.G.G. Grandfathers and G.G.G. Grandmothers and 1 G.G.G.G. Grandfather.
Some of my lines are: Davis, Whisman, Creech, Parsons, Tutt, Evans, Stamper, Pennington, Hieronymus, Crawford, Spencer and Hanks.
Some grave sites that I am currently looking for:
William Micheal Whisman and Isabella (Spencer) Whisman, Whisman Cemetery, Booth Ridge, Wolfe Co. Ky.
Henry Evans Sr. and Lucinda (Hanks) Evans, Canyon Falls, Lee Co. Ky.
James B. Stamper and Tamer (Tolson) Stamper, Stamper Cemetery, Grassy Creek, Morgan Co. Ky.
William Stamper and Emily Stamper, Stamper Cemetery, Grassy Creek, Morgan Co. Ky.
Dr William A. Tutt and Sarah (Stamper) Tutt, Faulkner-Tutt Cemetery, Wolfe Co. Ky. *Found: May 7, 2013*
GPS co-ordinates are great.
I am a first generation Michigander but every drop of blood in my body came from Southeast Kentucky.
Because my address book has been hacked several times, I do not open e-mails that contain nothing in the 'subject' box.
RE: Lee County Cemetery Hi Marvin. There really isn't a "Lee County Cemetery". I created this cemetery for persons that died in Lee County, KY or elsewhere who don't have the cemetery listed on their death record but just say "Lee County". Instead of listing "unknown burial" for the person, which doesn't even list a state for the person I use this cemetery to at least get them in the county where they are buried. Once I find out where they're actually buried I move them to that cemetery.
I've now added an explanation to the description of the cemetery so people will know it's not an actual cemetery.
Whites My gg Grandfather William Mortimer Cundiff and is supposed to be buried in this cemetery. His second wife is Angeline Virginia White. I do not know her parents are but I am now wondering if there is a connection.
Uncle buck Creech My grandfather was James Thomas. He was a close friend to Uncle Buck Creech and Joe Chambers. I found the obit on Find a grave and am printing off to show my Mom! My grandfathers ancestors have been hard to research. My grandfathers father was James Thomas too! Thank you for the picture. I'm going to check out Lee Co. VA because some families moved to a new territory together! My grandfather, James Thomas was with one of Uncle Buck,s sons and was shot. Your info shows two of his sons were killed. Again, thank you for posting the info and the picture.
