|C.C.Diamond||ID Military in Westlawn-Hillcrest|
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge #326.
If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.
Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.
If you have already received this message, please accept our apologies for the duplicate message.

"Jack" died of Bright's disease, a kidney disorder, when he was 18 months old. I could not find his grave marker after looking twice in baby land section.

I noticed you made the correction, but Nadine Massey's maiden name was Rose, not a nickname.

I got the email about Debbie Summers on the Scroll. But, I haven't got anything about Jason yet.

What is left of the hospital has been turned into condos and the area has been built up. The condo association was to take care of the cemetery. It is a walk thru high grass into the woods. The cemetery was cleared and it does have a very sad vibe to it. It was very quiet but very sad feeling. My daughter brought her husky with her, he is deaf, but he could hear something there. He sat very still looking around tipping his head. Most graves were just marked with numbers. I took pictures of numbers, but want to wait till I know who is buried there. I posted the ones that have names. I will go back in the spring. So many were only physically ill and not mentally ill, but no medicine to treat them. What a shame.

The cemetery is lost in the middle of the woods. It was cleared and was cleaned up and the numbered plots were going to have stones. It has become overgrown again and hard to get to. I am going back in the spring to see what has been done. Hopefully I can get the rest photographed. Thank you for caring about them.

Dear Ghost Girl: Thank you for responding to my post. Happy holidays to you as well!

Dear Ghost Girl: I would like to commend you for your kindness and thoughtfulness in leaving a virtual flower for every person listed as buried in the Danvers State Hospital Cemetery. Too many of these people lived out their lives and died alone. Thank you for having compassion toward them, especially since you couldn't possibly have known them.
As for me, I had no family in Danvers; in fact, I have never even been to Massachucets. I am simply a lover of cemeteries, abandoned buildings (especially old institutions), and other such scenes. Nevertheless, your action impressed me, and I know those patients would thank you if they could. God bless you.
