Bio and Links
Bio Photo We work as a team: Russian-Danish family living in London. After a few years in the Middle East, we have now moved to our next adventure in China. County-keepers for England. Being long-term expats, we are very interested in all Russians and Danes who found their last resting place away from their home countries. We will be grateful for any comments, advice and links to memorials. Thanks to this wonderful website we have found many friends all over the world and the amount of mails we receive increase all the time. We appreciate all the mails and ALWAYS reply but sometimes it takes longer than we would like to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We prefer to get your questions and corrections through e-mail (use the EDIT tab in the memorial). Please include your own e-mail in case we need to write back to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: William Waldorf Astor
I agree, photo removed. I am still confused as to the two memorial pages for his wife Mary Paul Astor. I will leave that to someone else to unscramble.

Of course, you should look for "сemetery". Section «Stories Behind the Stones»

RE: Dmitri S. Turin
The inscription on his gravestone. Transliteration from Russian:

«Dmitry Savelevich Tyrinz
Chief Inspector of the Artillery Unit
Passed away in Barrow
17/30 March Year 1915»

17 March means Julian calendar
30 March means Gregorian calendar

RE: Matilda Lee-Hamilton
btw, if you are thinking to go to Florence, Cimitero degli Allori (via Senese, just 15 minutes from Florence in the Chianti hills) is where Vernon Lee, Eugene Lee-Hamilton, Violet Trefusis, Reginald Turner, Harold Acton, Osbert Sitwell, John Pope-Hennessy... and many other are buried. It's more recent than Cimitero Acattolico in Piazzale Donatello, but it's a very nice cemetery, privately owned and the clerks are very kind in helping you finding the right burial places.

RE: Matilda Lee-Hamilton
I found Matilde (different spelling) Lee-Hamilton at Cimitero degli Allori (near Florence), same cemetery of her son Eugene, and also the burials place of Eugene's daughter, same cemetery. I sent you the right edit. Elisa

I didn't know about BU, I saw many of them (not created by me) on findagrave, is there a way to create them according to policy?
